Hi
I hope I am in the right place _ I am urgently seeking help on my Vu 4k Ultimo box, which will not boot up, the only indication that it is receiving power, is the white stand by light on the front of the box.
I have tried to flash the box but no joy.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Reformat your usb using this tool,
HP usb format tool
Then try to flash the original vuplus team image,

Hi
Thank you for your quick reply, I have used the format tool that you suggested with a number usb's, however, the box just stay's in the stand by position with the white light on. Also on the 4 k ultimo box there is no button to press to flash the box. I would appreciate any further advice that you can offer, as there is very little info on this box at the moment.

Best regards

Once again _ Thank you, unfortunately the light does not flash on my box, it just remains solid. I had seen the guidance for flashing a 4K box previously with the usb to be formated in Fat32 and the image to be un-zipped on the usb again this has made no difference. Do you have any further suggestions you could offer me.

Regards

No the box does not boot up other than the white light coming on, it has the original Vu image on the box, thinking ( as my bank balance is) that I should of kept with my original Duo2 box which has severed me well.

Format a few usbs with a low level format tool like hdd guru, then format, then put the yellow "vuplus" folder on, then follow the procedure of flashing your box.

Most likely a USB issue

Reading all the replies above & if you feel you have tried all options i think you should get in touch with the place of purchase as obviously it is well within the warranty period, it could be the external psu has been damaged by a power surge or something completely different but either way i would be getting in touch with them now to see what they advise rather than opening it up & potentially invalidate the warranty.

Good advice _ I feel that I have tried all the options available ( with the help of yourself and other members) so thank you once again, I only hope this is not the start of problems for this box and for other people who have purchased one in good faith.

Did you manage to get a console log with a serial cable? It would be interesting to know if you got the MEMSYS error which would indicate a hardware fault. Either way, I would strongly agree re sending the unit back under warranty. Definitely wise not to open the unit as you have said.

So what you are saying opening the box invalidates the warranty.

How are supposed to change or install your hard drive .

I have opened it to put hard drive and extra tuner.

In essence, yes.

If a seller wanted to be a 'hunt' about it they could claim that adding such caused the problem now being experienced & technically they would be within their rights because they could argue that adding a HDD and/or extra tuner should have been done at time of order which would have meant there was no excuse to open the box during the warranty period as all items would be covered under the same warranty.

My advice, if returning under warranty, would be to only do so in the exact same condition it came in, including the stock image that was on it. Then there can be no possible argument from anyone.

All the above said however, I doubt very much that any decent seller would pull such a dirty trick unless there was clear evidence that tampering had indeed caused the issue.
