28.2E: Sony Channel switched to free broadcast.

Another British TV station has switched from a crypt broadcast to a free (FTA) distribution. Since February 1, Sony Channel's main program and its time-shifted version of Sony Channel + 1h have been available from the 28.2 ° E Free (FTA) position.

Sony Channel and Sony Channel + 1h with transition to FTA broadcasting, unfortunately, have also changed the reception conditions. Both programs are now broadcasting from the same transponder that works in the UK volume. Originally, the main program was broadcast in the European volume, a time-shifted version of + 1h in the UK.
Both programs became part of the newly acquired capacity at 11,307 GHz following the recent FEC increase from 2/3 to 5/6. The change in the FEC has increased the capacity of the multiplex but at the expense of the reduction in the signal reserve, which is especially felt by spectators outside the British Isles.
Sony Channel offers series and films of various genres - from comedies to dramas. The target group is mainly women.
