I like this image but I'm experiencing a problem with it. The LAN connection stops working after some time and I have to switch to DHCP to get the connection back. I've reflashed 5 times and it's still the same. Is there any solution?

It is very unlikely that the IP that comes fixed on the box will be within the same subnet range as that of your home network.

So, assuming your router is setup for DHCP, either manually assign a fixed IP from your router pool or reserve and IP on the router for the STB.

I know that...but thanks for saying.

This is what's happening: I've flashed the image and changed from DHCP to a static IP address in my network range. Everything works fine for a while. After some time, the box cannot see the internet. It's still connected on my internal network. I can access it by FTP or Telnet but it loses connection to the internet. For example I can't download plugins or connect to any other type of server. Through trial and error, I've found that if I change back to DHCP, the box reaches the internet.

The problem only happens with this back up image. If I flash back to any other image, I don't have and never have had this problem.

Seen this one on my boxes too. Set your DNS on the STB to that of your router address. e.g.: Router IP = 192.168.7.1 then set 1st DNS to the same and leave the 2nd DNS empty. That should fix it.

If not then I'm all out of ideas.:puz

PS change may need a restart to work.

Primary DNS is already set to the router IP address. Router has been restarted previously and that didn’t cure it. Just got home after working away all week and the wife says she’s had no telly all week. I changed back to DHCP and everything came back instantly. I’ll have to change images. It’s a mystery but thanks for your help.
