VU+ Kodi Support Cannot get Kodi 17 to work

Hello again,
I have tried and tried to setup kodi as the above You Tube video, nothing! I have my laptop on and watching the video and going through the setup procedure's bit by bit and when it comes to having the 'ares' wizard nothing, only a blue circle going round and then the receiver goes straight back to 'Plugins' screen. I have even followed the article in Computer Active and still the same happens.. I have even 'Factory Reset' the receiver and then re-installed Ten's Image, set it up to my liking and tried to setup Kodi. Same thing happens. Whatever I install 'ares' and 'exodus' still the same. I am in the process of nearly subscribing to S##. :bangd:

Any/all help or advice appreciated.

Sorry, many thanks for the quick reply.
VU+Solo2 about 3 years old. Original bought from SS.
I have even tried several other images with Kodi 17. Just tried zvonk's new backup and found Kodi 17 but there is some software missing, (so it tells me), and will not install. Looks like a standard build and see if I can find kodi 17 to install.

Maybe a silly question....you have a HDD installed and mounted...yes

Try this if you wish...I am using and works well...you will need to setup from scratch if your happy with that.

Yes I have a hard drive. I have just installed the open atv image, as you suggested, and now trying to get the cccam to work. I had the cam in /usr/keys/ and now it is in the right place, /usr/bin/ all that part is working. Latest Catseyes and now to tackle Kodi. It is a pity we have an old Panasonic plasma, no USB for remote keyboard or mouse.

One more question: can Kodi be setup from the vu+solo2 zapper/handset??

Kodi working and populated. I thought at first that the screen that showed, (Arctic Zephyr), was as far as Kodi got and hung and hung. CCcam working, and all the extra bouquets, (my mrs likes it that way, favourites, movies, documentaries, sport and kids), all populated.
Chuffed to bits now.

Hello again,

Just a quick question; Kodi seems to take a long time to load, is that right? the only addon I have installed is ares-project. I suppose it could be the age/cpu and memory of my +solo2 ?? bought back in June 2013. I/we are still watching an old Panasonic Plasma 42", so a new UHD TV is not a priority. I might have to have an accident with the old TV and upgrade to a UHD and then a 4K VU+.

Yes...Mine is the same around 40/50 secs approx not actually checked but not concerned ..no hurry

Not quite that long for me 10-15 secs here but at least it closes ok again when asked to & stuff actually works occasionally too.

I still use the TV addons thingy myself but seeing this might just gives the ares one a try. :ok:

Kodi 17.1 is great on Vu+. I use loads and have Tv guides set up for other stuff also.

But one bug bear is why allow OPKG to install pvr clients in Kodi 17.1, when pvr pnly uses internal player and internal has NO FRICKING SOUND LOL

I have paid my money and tried and tried to get into debrid, and tried to follow Sparky's setup but his kodi is different to mine. Where/what am I doing wrong?
Using Kodi 17.1 with Open ATV Image.

Be best typing in google

"how to add real debrid to Kodi 17.1"

Takes minutes, then sort out each addon for debrid or if anything needs be tweaked.

But serious there is tutorials, just look for most up to date ones.
