CBBC's Danger Mouse remake to star Game of Thrones actor Lena Headey

Game of Thrones star Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) and talk show host John Oliver have joined the voice cast of the BBC's remake of children's classic animated series Danger Mouse.

Headey will deliver "the super-smart tones of US Secret Agent Jeopardy Mouse, while Oliver will be breathing life into mad scientist wolf Dr Augustus P Crumhorn III," said the BBC at Comic-Com.

The latest cast members join Danger Mouse himself Alexander Armstrong (Match Point); Kevin Eldon (Hot Fuzz), who plays his sidekick hamster Penfold; Stephen Fry as Colonel K; and narrator Dave Lamb.

The remake of the spoof spy series is a co-production between the BBC and FremantleMedia, and is being animated by Boulder Media. Ben Ward, who worked on the hit CBBC shows Horrible Histories and Tracy Beaker, is lead writer.

Danger Mouse will start airing on children's channel CBBC this autumn, with international release on Netflix scheduled for spring 2016. The original series is also available on Netflix.
