Hi
Excuse my ignorance
For some time in my decoders I switched from cccam to Oscam
CCcam was stopped for a lifetime at step 2.3.2 (now become 8) while oscam is constantly updated.
I have saved in a folder the cfg files that allow me to use my TvSat card and I always use these files, while every now and then I go to replace the bin file in usr / bin but dier that I understand what I am doing does not correspond to the truth
Who can tell me the differences between the various versions and what changes with the versions that come out almost daily?

help,help,help please

Would love it if someone could just explain in plain English which of the many variants of OSCAM ipk files I should install to get it working. I have tried a MIPS version, an ARM version, etc..etc...all just cause OpenVix running on my VU + Duo to "hang" and I have to power off and back on again. I have had a suggestion from someone to install OpenPLI instead as that is more stable and supports OSCAM, which I am thinking about doing, although of course I will then be starting from a complete scratch again, and will lose everything I have working at the moment. PLEASE can someone help ???!! Thanks !

He cannot answer your request for clarification on oscam, I myself am trying to understand something more.
But what I would like to tell you is that with a dated box and with obvious memory limits like the Duo you have to think about changing your approach.
In addition to a solo4k and a zero 4k, I have an old and glorious duo that in order to be able to use it at its best by eliminating all the blocks you describe, I acted as follows:
1 installed in flash an OBH 4.3 image with only the network setting
2 created Open Multi Boot on a 32 mb usb stick
3 installed in OMB image OBH setting it to my liking
4 after which I always use the box in OMB, it works very well and never stops
Once this is done you can think of oscam
In my opinion Open Black Hole is the best image for VU + boxes

Thanks for your reply. Do I really need OpenMultiBoot ? Or can I just flash Open Black Hole 4.3 ? Don't really know nor understand Openmultiboot, other than I gather it gives you the option to use multiple images without re-flashing. Which OSCAM do I use - MIPS or ARM ?

Your Vuplus duo takes mips. Arm is used on 4k receivers. If you still have openvix image, you should download your oscam from the image itself and do not need to install any ipk files at all. Just make sure that you copy and save your config files on your pc because you always need them irrespective of any image which you may decide to use.

If, as you write, your box is vuDuo the only way to make it a bit reactive is to install a light image, like the OBH, and put it in OMB so as to circumvent the obvious limits of the flash ,for which I insist, read some tutorials but creating OMB is not that difficult, but make the box work in OMB with OBH 4.3 or with the more recent OBH 4.4
I, following the advice received on another forum dedicated to vuplus, did it and the box was reborn to a new life.
For the second question the vuDuo has mips processor so you can only use these versions of oscam
PS
I can't understand what your mother tongue is, if it was Italian we could feel private and everything would be easier
