I am not aware that you can download within XBMC but someone else may be able to offer a better answer.

What I know you can do is install the Transmission plugin (in the ViX feeds Menu-Plugins-Green-Extensions). Then install the Transmission GUI on your PC/Laptop & set it up to point at your Solo2. This will let you source the movies via torrents on your PC/Laptop and download directly to the Solo2.

Just tried on navi-x & it does work but download is very slow, fist do this if you havent already.
[How To] Context Menu and Sumenu in Xbmc

Now by going to the title you want to download and pressing the mute button you will see the download option, the location defaults to /media/hdd/.xbmc/userdata/addon_data/script.navi-x/My Downloads but you are given the option to change this before confirming. It appears to download in real time (ie to download will take as long as it would to watch the movie) but running this now & can see this file is being created fine on the HDD.

No sound is usually a codec issue when playing media files -

Navigate to Setup -> Software Management ->Advanced Options ->Packet Management

Find and install the files that start 'gst- ' and install them and try again.

Or something similar to that, as I don't have Vix installed to be able to check its the same.

In genesis settings select download and choose a drive location. When you select a film/ TV show to watch you get the source select screen ie moovreel 1080upload etc bring up the context menu and you can select download. Works on my m8 but haven't tried on theft solo yet .got to remap my remote . Hope this helps.

You can download from Phoenix . This works fine. Just downloaded a league of gentlemen episode in around 4 minutes.
