Yes but it is subjective and dependent on how one perceives better and what one sees as value. The DUO2 has several advantages but the Solo2 is enough of a beast for most people's needs, mine included. I just went for the DUO2 coz I could afford it but will admit have never used more than a single tuner. I am pleased to have been able to later install a T2/C Tuner to replace the standard T/C tuner. Something I could not have done on the Solo2.

I also like the colored front LCD display. Though it is a bit of a gimmick it can be configured to display some useful information in multiple screens.

lets be quite honest all vu models are great, they all get the same support
from the image teams. and like most things everyone has a favorite model.
the duo2 is the flagship model and it's most expensive of the vu range, but
if you have no use for multiple tuners then it's not a model that will be high
on a buyers list, i have three different vu boxes and if you compare video and
audio the picture and sound on my tv is as good from all of them. there is no cable
where i live and the tv has freeview and freesat built in so i guess like many others
i only use one tuner , even though two of my boxes have twin tuners, so at the end of the
day the best model is the one your going to get the most use from.
