In all of my almost 3 years of ownership I have never even looked at setting up the fan. I guess that means it is set to default and as I never hear it, apart from at the start of a full system boot, I have never felt the need to mess around with its associated settings.

Being such a big case I am not really sure what benefit the fan actually adds.

Have a look at the info on temperature I set my fans to keep my boxes under 40 degrees only real time your box will heat is with transcoding or running a very busy server ,if its up with a server youll need the fan set to about a third of the max running speed in stanby also this is where my vu boxes are set more or less the fan is still very quiet at 3 feet away approx 1900 rpm

Hi,

I thought the fan was rpm one which should adjust itself depending on the heat.

I bought an aftermarket fan just in case I could not bear the noise but I can hardly hear the standard fan.

Thanks

Don't think the duo 2 would get too hot, I've seen smaller cars than that box, I,m sure they could have made it a bit smaller, although thinking about it, all that space that's going to waste might be for a after market cooling fan ;)
