Eutelsat in Russian talks
Eutelsat says it has been in discussions with its Russian clients to ease contract terms.

The move comes in the light of the current economic environment in the country that has seen broadcasters including Viacom and CNN review their position in the market.

The satellite operator says the impact on third quarter revenues was around one million Euros. The impact for the fiscal year 2014-15 has been put at between €12 to 15 million.

Russia is an important market for Eutelsat; the new Express-AT1 satellite that entered service in May 2014 was partially responsible for a 3.3% growth in video applications this quarter to €225.3 million.

Eutelsat reported numbers in line with company objectives amid increases in the number of channels broadcast and video traffic overall.

Third quarter revenues of €368 million were up 4.5% on a like-for-like basis with nine-month revenues following suit at €1,090 million.
