FilmBox Live launches on Apple TV
The FilmBox Live app has made its debut on the new Apple TV in Central and Eastern Europe and Turkey.

The first such service in both locations, it gives subscribers access to 1,000+ movies and other diverse on demand content.

It will also feature all the linear channel portfolio from SPI International/FilmBox that includes channels dedicated top sport (FightBox HD and Fast’nFunBox HD), documentaries (DocuBox HD), movies (FilmBox Arthouse), fashion (FashionBox HD), independent music (360TuneBox HD), interactive gaming (MadscreenBox) and different ethnic groups (FilmBox Russia, FilmBox Africa, Kino Polska In’l and Kino Polska Muzyka).

The launch of the FilmBox Live app on the new Apple TV is in line with SPI’s strategy to make its content available via apps to OTT TV providers in the market in addition to the traditional linear channel distribution.

Commenting on the development, Berk Uziyel, executive director of Filmbox International, said: “Last year SPI unveiled a comprehensive product solution called FilmBox Universe, which is a 360, all-inclusive, ad-free, premium TV, multi-screen entertainment service that allows subscribers to enjoy top quality and diverse programming everywhere they want, on any screen they choose – at one subscription. You can buy the subscription of Filmbox Live through your current TV operator which offers Filmbox Package or directly from Apple.

“SPI is embracing new technologies and the new app world. This is why – in addition to maintaining our linear channel distribution business – we started distributing content via app stores of the operator boxes and new consumer electronic boxes, which are available in the market. So far SPI’s application is available via Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and ROKU. This move is in line with the Filmbox Universe strategy which was outlined by the SPI Group management about a year ago.”
