    Hi all,

I have recently started having issues with rwd or fwd when using timeshift on any channel mainly watch the free ones. I have not tested recordings but do remember having it on the 1 or 2 I did test.

I have openatv 5.1 and 1TB WD Red drive.

    Drive capacity is 850GB free.

What else can I check? Can I run maintenance on the drive? Shall I just wipe and start again?

    Thanks

I just tried using a recorded movie on OpenSPA 6.007 and I was shocked to find they work perfectly (not bothered for a long time because they never used to work well at all) all the way up to 128x. The < & > skip ok for me also but I prefer using 3, 6, 9 to skip forward & 1, 4, 7 to skip back. Handy for skipping the ad's during timeshit.

That's what I use it for.

What's the best image to use now, openatv is good but with all version it did sometimes get stuck resulting in rebooting the box.

Blackhole or vix as they seem to have very good support?

Dirtydonki - is openspa any good as I not really heard of it?

I just want a simple to use and stable image to get the wife of my back :)

SPA is grand IMHO but not everyones cup of tea as the GUI uses a customised, icon driven Menu System.

What you could do is go to the backups section of the forum and have a look at some of the screenshots in the threads there to see which image catches your eye. Then consider also using open multiboot to install multiple images which you can then switch between. This will allow you to keep a crop of images for either variety or just to again try out to see which fits your needs best.

For simplicity OpenPLi is probably easiest but I'd be inclined to use OpenViX as it retains many of the features and is continually updated.
Blackhole is very featured but also heavily locked down.
Others such as OpenATV, VTi, etc also have their merits and their usage is ultimately down to personal requirement, taste & fanboy status. :snicker:

For the record I'm an OpenATV fanboy.

If you do an online flash via the blue buttonup to 5.3 the process should automatically save and then restore your settings again. If I remember correctly it even restores most of your plugins but not EMU.

Personally, I would always back my important stuff (channel settings, settings, EMU configs, fstab, etc) up manually to PC using FTP.
