one BIG clue might be that one bought it from a dodgy geezer on fleebay or that den where them 40 thieves hang out.

How many version of cloned solo 2 do we have ? cos if I load the clone safe images it write H/W error. The only image I have working is 2.07 blackhole

I have a clone box for sure I got it from the "40 thieves" place, I previously used one of 10 belows backups on my duo clone when they used to host clone images on a different forum but been using a differnt uimage on my solo 2 but know I need to update it just dont know what version it is so wonder if there is an easy way to tell what version solo2 clone I have o I can use one of the latest 10 below backups
I bought the box in April 2014 if that helps to work out which clone version it was so I have had it over a year now.
I though it was just ferrari that made them from having the duo clone but then looking at the images it seems theres a few clone makers and dont want to brick my box

April 2014 is not all that old when one considers I still run Nemesis on a DM800HD SE clone but can understand why you would want to load the Hades image. 
The Ali Seller site isn't very helpful at all in identifying which box they sell. X Team doesn't bring up very much that is definitive either but I think it's pretty unlikely to be a Sunray.
I guess it's a case of either looking for a label and posting the information or opening it up and seeing which SIM Card is installed. Sadly that will only be useful if the manufacturer has even bothered to print any details on it or even on the SIM. I know the SIM in my DM is plain white with no clue as to what it is but I do know it is SIM2 from other sources.
I have in the past however been able to flash SIM 2 images and Ferrari images to my DM without issue but flashing a Sunray image never worked for me on it. Luckily when I screwed mine up doing stuff like this it was easy to recover via a small button on the back. So no big hassle with cross over cables, finding the right image, the right update program and the like.
From reading the manufacturers web site all the bits and information to recover is there. So if you tried and it didn't work you could always recover the box back. As for bricking the box completely, I think the risk of doing that would only arise from trying use an unpatched kosher image.
If it were me I'd just flash the fecker & worry about the consequences later but this is not a recommendation from me for you to be as gung ho as the crazy donki is.
Whatever you decide to do or try, now & in future, always backup your existing image first before giving anything like this a go. All being well you can always flash back afterwards.

Thanks for the info, will probably have a bash at it tonight, depending how risky I feel I may take some photos of the box and upload them here first, but may just do a backup and try to flash it......

I have seen some info on upgrading from a v2 to a v4 is that something I need to look at or not with mine being an older box or will I not know until I try it/upload photos?
