How to patch image Sunray Solo2 with safe drivers

-flash the image
-boot the box without network/dish connected
-go through the setup
-connect network
-do a restart network in the system/network menu
-ftp the drivers to /lib/modules/3.13.5/extra/
-enter the telnet command

sed -i '/Package: vuplus-dvb-modules-vusolo2/{n; s/3.13.5-r1/30.13.5-r1/g;}' /var/lib/opkg/status

-connect dish
-reboot the box

With that file yes as the drivers are for sunray solo2, the method would be similar if you have patched drivers for other cloned models though.

Just to keep this simple for my benefit, I am assuming this would need a non-clone solo2 to be able to boot the image in the first place?

No this is done on a Sunray Solo2 with the dish disconnected, the above info was sourced from here.

Do not attempt with the following images which are said to contain a timebomb.

1-HDMU_13261_vusolo2

2-openld-1.8.0

3-openhdf-vusolo2

If in any doubt the safest advice would be give this a miss & only use images that have already been patched by others.
