i know many experienced vu and linux users will already be aware of this but
i hope this will help the new users of linux boxes and others who might not
know about or havn't tested this way of re-imaging your receivers. next
this is mainly for members who use the diseqc motor:- 1.2 motor/dish settings
or have a 36v superjack motor and a v-box, with these motor settings
you can make changing the image a lot quicker and easier, just be aware
this can only be used after the box has been set up, after which all new image
changes can be made a lot quicker, next before the info let me say i use the
DCC and DREAMBOX EDIT programs to control my vu receiver:- next
before re-flashing a new image on your linux sat box.
to save a lot of time and work, you must first upload
the following files from the sat box to your computer
****************************************************

open the DCC and when it connects to the sat box.
you left click FTP then you double left click on
the ETC: folder to open it then double left click
the enigma2 folder to open it, next you left click
the SETTINGS FILE to highlight it and using the right
pointing arrow between the windows on the dcc panel to
send this file to your desktop, after it transfers left
click the green arrow at the top of the left window to
return to the page where the enigma2 folder is. now you
scroll down this page and find the cccam config file.then
highlight it and send this file to your desktop. and if
you dont have the latest chn list on your desktop then using
the dreambox edit panel upload the list from the sat box to
your desktop.after this you now re-flash your receiver.when
the new image boots up you then reload the settings file to
where you downloaded it from and a small panel will ask you to
over write the blank settings file that came with the new image
click yes and then reboot the sat box with the switch on the
rear panel of the receiver, when it boots up, by using your settings file
it will put all your [tv/language/time/date/tuners and personnel etc:] setting back
and save you lots of time resetting them, and after the chn list is loaded your dish
will find all sats and open the FTA chns on them. after this you can load your cam/cams
and config file and thats it you will have everything set and chns opening
