General VU+ Receiver Discussion I need help choosing an image & setup for 28.2e & hopefully intelsat 907.

I have just come into possession of a VU+ Duo , can anyone tell me which image is more widely used on the box. I am totally new to this and have never used a VU stb before.
I have read about, Open ATV, Black hole, OpenPli and Vix. As I need lots of help in setting this box up to use on 28.5e I need to get the image I can get the best help with. As I am new to this it does not make any difference to me which image I put on the box, I just want the one that I can get loads of help with. I live in Spain, not that the box knows that but I thought it might be best to let people know just in case there is a user here that can help me. The onle box I am more familiar with is the TM5402. So please help me.

Having tried many images, I believe at the moment the VTi 9.01 image is the best all round, although I am sure that other members will have their own opinions, basically because different images offer slightly different functionality.

Hi Terence, Thanks very much for the response. As I said earlier I am totally new to this. I am aware of how to install the image ( I think ) but I need help in getting it running using softcams, if you get my drift. I don't know how much I can say here, I have a ''line'' I use and I would like to be able to use this VU duo with it. Do you know how to set it up using two satellites?

If you gonna flash a bu image from this forum you fill find evrythink in it what you need. Every BU image got differend cams (mgcam, cccam, doscam or oscam) in it. All you need to do is to go into the right cam section of this forum. Try oscam and go into the oscam section, there you will find configs which you can download and where you only need to put your own lines in.

But please don´t forget, we do not support CS. If you´re got problems with homesharing (for example stb downstairs with local card and stb upstairs without local card) you can ask all you like about it. Also, be very carefull when you be asked for showing your config files. Make sure all private datas like dynadress etc. are coverd up.

So, i hope i could help you a little bit more and you know now how to ask what.

Go to setup, Tuner setup. There you can say one, two or more satellites you want to reach.

There is not a lot more I can say over and above what Tube 10000 has already said, my advice is to take note of the information offered because there are a lot of experience people on this site who are only to willing to help and believe me when I say it can save you a lot of time and trouble.

In terms of the setting up two satellites you will of course need two separate dishes or a motorised dish, being in Spain (depending on your location) you may need a 2.4 dish in order to receive certain channels.
