hi i have created a kodi build on a pc , but what i would like to ask is it the same command you put in a meelo se for the xml on kodi so your images will appear eg: if i change the xml setting to the skin from C:\Users\gizmo\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\userdata\pictures\Kids\ to special://home/userdata/pictures/Kids/ do i need to change the xml ?
does anyone know if stream all sources has any problems with this system i seem to be getting a error on a test build i done for my meelo ,is it possible with kodi and eg: specto to add everything from a categorie to library instead of adding 1 item at a time . thank you for any advice

Best ask on a separate thread related specific to Kodi, not in a a thread related to OpenVIX custom build, would be best bet.

Wow, a 2.5gb build, seriously I wouldn't start using builds of that size even on proper dedicated boxes like fire tv/shield, let alone on a clone of a vu solo 2, but that is just my own opinion, will probably run slow on it.

By the above, I mean no malice, just don't want it going all pete tong for you lol

I imagine you will need symlink/mount in correct position to play, never done that myself.

If you initialize your hdd, it wipes it i.e a complete format.

Do not do that if you actually want to keep your content.

You should check

menu - information - memory - then FREE FLASH memory. (what did you have free)

I say check, because all these big builds and tinkering ends up on flash, it could case potential issues.

I know some play via NAS drive or samba shares from PC maybe, I think @DirtyDonki may do similar with NAS/SMB as I have seen him help others prior.

Yeah be careful as 38meg is not alot left.

No Kodi is played via the box, the .kodi folder best be on /media/hdd.

Plex - can be played by dreamplex plugin (read up on how to set up if you have own plex account)

hi thank you for your help and advice , the reason why i asked about kodi on a hard drive was that it can go onto a fire stick etc so i thought it would be possible to run it from a external hard drive , i will re image the meelo se at some point at the moment i am trying to make a small kodi build so it would run ok on the meelo se . with my plex account i have got all my personal movies on there but when i have kodi on i do like to add my personal movies to either main menu or submenu i am not sure if that would be possible with a plex account or dreamplex all though i have not looked at dreamplex at the moment , i am thinking what options i have concering kodi and meelo se thanks for your help and advice

I would guess the drive is either NTFS or FAT32, try mounting it using telnet.

Either that or plug the drive into another device on your network and share it and access the drive that way.

First are you able to check which file system the hard drive is formatted too?

If you can plug it into a windows device right click on the drive in in 'This PC', or 'My Computer' and choose properties it will show you the file system there.

I don't know if Enigma2 can read NTFS drives directly, or with the use of a plugin.
If it is an ExFAT Drive then I know there is a plugin to be able to read those drives.

I am not sure if you need a plugin to be able to read NTFS drives directly, as NTFS is a Microsoft's file system.

The other solution is to reformat the drive and put the movies back on, but id wait im sure someone will know if you can and if so how.

hi thank you for your help and advice at the moment the meelo se will not read the external 5tb drive with all my movies on it , i did try and mount it useing mount manager but the system kept crashing due to low flash memory , i was woundering if a usb adapter would help so i can plug in both hard drives in the back on my meelo se , as for formatting my drive i can but i am not sure where i can put all my movies at the moment , if this was a option and change it fron ntfs to ExFAT how would it work with meelo to kodi as i like my movies on the menu or submenu of kodi thanks

It would work the same I would have thought only the location of the files would have changed.

If you have another device on your network, you could access the drive as a shared drive - Not really done this myself but I am sure its not overly difficult.
