Not sure why you would want to use a VPN on Kodi to be honest, unless using P2P / torrents / acestream.

Never really looked into myself, but I have found this about openVPN.

Please, Log in or Register to view URLs content!

I have a VPN, i use for USA restricted apps on my nvidia shield, but never used directly for Kodi or on Enigma2.

I suppose one way would be

Install OpenVPN and get manual settings / OpenVPN config file from your VPN supplier.

Then try that way.

that i what I tried Danny.....and got the setup error....forget it Danny...close the tread..
I emailed my VPN, they said they will send manual setup and a ovpn config.

they sent this

We can provide manual PPTP (username, password and domain servers names) settings and .ovpn files, but you will need to configure your device using our settings by yourself at your own risk. Will you be able to do that?

Then I suppose you use the OpenVPN plugin on Kodi.

Just as a guess.

So if you really want it setup, just mail your vpn people.

If you know nothing about VPN, do you have a PAID VPN product? or what is reason on why you want it on Kodi, if you not used before?

That error I got above also as that says "setup private internet access" which is actually a product name PIA (private internet access)

OpenVPN with manual details like I suggested above may be best bet, but haven't even done that, I normally just have an app on whatever platform and turn on VPN if and when I need it.

Oh the click bait articles.

My advice is if you wanna use a vpn and hide your IP whenever your streaming any content, is by a windows box/android (I.e on a platform designed for Kodi) buy a vpn subscriptions, then start the app as soon as it boots.

This is really something you need think about yourself and research also, as safeguarding is all personal opinion.

Personally to myself I only use to open up USA apps, did have a dns for that but cancelled as cost more as vpn was cheaper long term.

But mostly people use VPN if downloading content of the net, unblock ISP blocked websites, watching sports via ace stream(torrents), unlock gel restricted.

You can't just set up a vpn app, you need to pay as free and vpn don't really mix, bar CyberGhost ain't bad.

I used same zip as you posted above.

I got a raspberri pi yesturday (as intrigued, have nvidia shield as main device) managed get working on pi by dropping all the server ovpn files (manual install) on pi and was fine

But on vu, error so I imagine it's not supported maybe

Fine on pi

I believe you can get OpenVPN working directly on enigma2 interface itself.

Again myself as stated personally never looked into it, literally until you mentioned it lmao.
