VU+ Kodi Support MP3 playback on Kodi 15.2 (vix 3.2 backup)

Hi thanks for clean backup. Having an issue with kodi playing back mp3 from cifs drive. Audio sounds like data. Movie files playback fine just seems to be mp3. Any suggestions.

Now that is an interesting one. I have never actually tried to play audio within Kodi and see now that I have so obviously been missing out.

I am already thinking however, that it may actually be more an issue with Enigma2 itself than Kodi as E2 is inherently bad at playing MP3's on some image releases.

I say this because I am using OpenSPA & even after installing MP3 Streams I still get no sound at all trying to stream or play locally or from NAS . If I then come out of Kodi and try with E2's own Media Player (in my case version 2) nothing plays at all either.

Sound cloud doesn't work either.

Yet if I use Dreambox Explorer it opens them in Merlin MP3 player where they play fine.

Have already tried one or two things without success but will update here if I get lucky.

Hi was working fine with old version of kodi but not with this one. there is sound but not recognisable as music.

Just tried & it is the same for me playing mp3 from HDD so guess we will need inform mx3l to fix it properly but i was able to change the default player by editing /usr/share/kodi/system/keymaps/keyboard.xml then fully restarting like shown HERE.




Although not ideal at least we can listen this way until a fix is found.

Update: works AOK on the experimental PLi version. Time for a cross comparison exercise.
