yeah mate, ive since tried 3.2 and 4.2 - both have pixelation on playback \ record.
sticking with Apollo.024

to re-iterate, to get decent proper recordings.

press record, wait till it freezes, which is a few moments, once its frozen, go to your recordings and just play the recording.
there is no freeze in the recording, plays perfect

UPDATE:
The mistake I was making was using\importing an .m3u file from my provider rather than the .tv file
Since using the .tv file instead, recordings work fine. I even tried a timed recording last night of a stream - which works great. Finally I can use up to date images and dont need to sell me box!!!
Thanks to everyone who posted on here

I am hoping someone can shed some lite on this I have seen a thread hear but do not fully understand it so might need a little help. I have a solo 2 with IPTV but having trouble getting it to record and the IPTV supplier is as much help as a fart in a space suit. The problem is if I try to record the picture breaks up and if I go into timers and stop the recording is all fine as some of the programs are on late at night I either have to stay up or do without.

Hi Manikm, my Vu+du02 records for a few minutes and stops recording. Spent many hours trying but IPTV would not record properly. Can you advise me how I can change these files to .tv.... my provided set up using xtream-editor and I simply run it. Is there anything I can do on my box to rectify this problem. Cheers..

edit: new to IPTV :)

Have checked under /etc/enigma2 the files are .tv i.e autobouquet.skyuk.1000.tv But I am not able to record more than 3-4 minutes. Appreciate any help in this matter. I have Vu+ Duo2.

Is it a PAID or a FREE IPTV? cos if PAID one then below

1. Server don't allow (free or paid), so only one connection - SOLUTION - watch a freesat/sat channel, press EPG, then scroll to your IPTV and record/set timer from there, let it record and dont use a iptv channel while its recording.

2. Try to watch on 2 devices at once, see if plays/cuts out, as its timeshift and its iptv would be classed as connections most likely.

3. Change stream type in echannelizer app on win i.e IPTV to DVB or vice versa.

4. M3U (FREE) set in correct format for box?

5. M3U (FREE) runs well on other devices?

I have recorded on OpenATV 6.1, OpenPLI develop, OpenVIX all latest images, 2 recordings while watching as a test.

Thanks danny187...helpful. So I can record but not all the time. Here's what I found:
To record go to the IPTV channel press record and then zap out of the channel to non-IPTV channel (Sat or free view). Remote recording does not work. Have to be viewing the channel before recording and then within few min. move out of it.

I am trying to set timmers so it zaps to the channel I want to record, before recording and them set another timmer to zap out of it. So I end up with 3 timmers. Zap, record, Zap out.

'Zap and record' does not work for me. It freezes.

I managed to record a full film without freezing or glitches. May be I have an old VU+ image which a friend set it up for me back in 2013. How do I find out which image I have? I dont know...under VIX I can see this:
vuduo-softwareUpdate-3.0.807-2014-02-28_16-29.tar.gz and also 15-00.tar.gz and 10-08.tar.gr (Do they mean anything?)

I will try echannelizer app but not sure how to. I am quite new to this and have paid subscription. He got me to download Xtream-editor , so not sure how I change the IPTV to DVB. Any step by step help appreciated.

Who got you to download xtream-editor?

Your timers don't need to ZAP in - record - ZAP out.

Just watch normal FREESAT channel, then press epg, scroll to your IPTV listsings, press record/add timer (not series link) then that's it.

I sometimes then go to MENU - TIMERS and adjust start time or what not.

Hi, the guy I get my IPTV links from from got me to download xtream-editor and with this a code was generated and I passed his this code and it worked. But recording is tempremantal. I have tried recording from FREESAT but it does not record. I have to be on the channel and record and then I have to shift to Freesat to be able to record. But even that sometimes doesn't work. Not sure what is wrong. Any ideas? :)

Guy you get links from = IPTV SUPPLIER lol.

So it will be one of two things.

1. Your storage is not high quality.
2. Your supplier hasnt got recording/especially for more than one stream.

As Danny said it is all down to your provider. I have used 10+ providers and only one had the option to record and view a channel at the same time. Plus i had to pay more for the privilege.

For testing purposes i would try recording a channel from one IPTV provider and viewing another IPTV providers channel. That way you will know for sure it isn’t down to your Internet connection speed or the image you have on your receiver.

Can you confirm if your streams are IPTV or DVB? My provider gives them beginning with 1: so guessing DVB?
Are you still working ok on the .24 release? Any restrictions or issues? Don't want to rebuild the box to very old image unless this works..

Thanks

hi all newbie here
I have VU+ DUO2 running openatv 6.1. My issue is recording related in that whenever i try and record FTA channels i do not have a problem. However, when i try and record IPTV channels it becomes corrupted and breaks up. The stream provider gives me 2 streams and I'm able to record using the same IPTV list on my old zgemma h2s using atv 6.1 image.
any ideas what the issue could be please?

cheers

The first suggestion would be to try another image but I think all the options have already been well covered in this thread. There is sadly no magic answer.

If the zgemma works then there is no reason it should not work on the Duo2 as you are using the same image unless your subscription is hard coded to the MAC address.
