Using solo2 with a HDD . I have not installed kodi on hdd I just click on kodi launcher.

Thanks for this Ten

I have this installed and everythings running well and Kodi is fine using Serviceapp and Exteplayer3 v33 and ffmpeg 3.2.2

Just a quick question. Can we update from this image ? Youve added an updater you see or even can we update the software in the original manor ?

I wouldnt have asked if you hadnt added the updater and would just have assumed it wasnt possible as ATV 6.0 has not been released officially yet.

Ian.

You should be able to update this as though this were a standard image. The updater included is for OScam which when used will update OScam for you to the latest available version.

Thanks for the info thats great news.

No, I know the Oscam updater your referring too, its not that, its actually a plugin called Firmware updater. I'm unlikely to use it, but it did peak my interest and make me ask the question about updating in general.

I'm glad I did now.

I will do a backup then try an update from the normal method.

Ian.

EDIT: Actually, the info about the Oscam updater is very usefull too. I need to disable that as I use the Oscam EMU which is compiled with full Tandberg and P-Vu AU by a buddy of mine over on pimps. I'm sure you will know him Dirty Donkey if I say Cokeaddict.

What will happen if I do ?

Not seen a flash online option before. Used Pli for too long lol

As you have a backup you will be fine. This is a standard warning and updating usually completes without a hitch. TBH I rarely do updates but by the time I do, a new release is usually there to flash instead.

The beauty with ATV is that if you do decide to flash a new version it not only restores your settings but your "supported" plugins as well.

Yes, know of Cokeaddict from old. Been a while since I was on Pimps. Must pop in and start a fire sometime.

Hi Guys,
I installed this backup few weeks ago, now I'm experiencing problem with channel switching. I have to regularly restart oscam or solo2 to make it work. The problem is black screen and no sound after channel change. Oscam live log is showing that channel is decoding, but not really. After reboot everything is working again for while. I did just one modification to this image, serviceapp was installed to make some addons work on kodi ? I tried several oscam versions. Can anyone help me with this ?

There has been a huge amount of updates since this backup was created so i think the best solution would be to backup your settings then restore them to an up to date version of ATV 6.0.

This is a great image and I am really enjoying it. So good I have a bit of feedback and a few queries.

1. I use a sony play tv dtt tuner and after a time I will switch on box and channels will have disappeared, tuners are still shown but I have to do a rescan. Its not major but if there is a fix then that would be great.

2. This one is more long winded, I use a dish and have it hooked to this solo2 but it is initially set for 28east so I downloaded all the sats I needed. However a few days later when I switched on they were all gone except 28east. I then did 13east on Monday and sure enough 2 days later gone. help

NB I should add I have a fixed dish for 9east Tuner B and positioner on tuner A.

3. I would like to load a full sat list for motor but worried I will crash box, I have kodi working as well, is there a motor list that works best. I use cateyes and latest is 5th March. I notice dirtdy donki is on the vu plus addons panel. I have linuxsat panel as well.

Other than that, should I update the image to latest as I have read above!!

Why don´t you make a backup of your image and then you can test everything. I use the same image but i don´t have any problems with my settings. Just make your bu and then download settings and test it.

Also you can try this backup of atv 6.0

There if image is latest updates, but issue is you get no sound on internal players in Kodi on enigma2, hence why playback via external, but pvr uses internal only.
Ensure updated to latest
Start a telnet session

Type
opkg install kodi-addons-meta

This will put some pvr clients you can install and try for yourself.

Hi guys,
A couple of questions if you can help. I am currently using my Solo2 for sat tv. All working flawlessly. In parallel I have my Raspberry set up with Kodi as media center, playing content from my home network (NAS drive). I am looking to minimize the number of devices so I am very interested in setting up my Solo2 with Kodi. So, before flashing the image (and messing everything up!) a few questions:
  1. OpenATV 6.0 + Kodi 17 image – does it start Kodi upon power on or standard interface and Kodi is started as plugin?
  2. Is this “full blooded” Kodi or stripped version?
  3. Can Kodi be used as media center to play files from local library (NAS drive), not concerned about internet streaming, Exodus, etc., only local network via gigabit ethernet?
  4. Can Kodi passthrough all audio formats (DTS, DTS-HD…)?
  5. How is the overall performance of Kodi compared to PC (slow, laggy, freezing…) or working well?
  6. Can I still use VU+/E2 PVR addon to watch sat tv on my secondary TV (via Raspberry)?
  7. Would this be a representative video of plugin in action -

Thank you all in advance!

Kodi is started as a plugin.
Is this “full blooded” Kodi or stripped version?
No. It still uses Enimgma2's internal mediaplayer.
Can Kodi be used as media center to play files from local library (NAS drive), not concerned about internet streaming, Exodus, etc., only local network via gigabit ethernet?
Yes.
Can Kodi passthrough all audio formats (DTS, DTS-HD…)?
Not sure this happens on all images but TBH I have never noticed. Perhaps another member can comment?
How is the overall performance of Kodi compared to PC (slow, laggy, freezing…) or working well?
Who can tell you that but yourself. For me it works well enough not to use Kodi directly on my NAS as often any more.
Can I still use VU+/E2 PVR addon to watch sat tv on my secondary TV (via Raspberry)?
If you can then you should share the secret because no one else I know can get the Vu+ PVR to work.
Would this be a representative video of plugin in action -

Looks good to me. :D

I have PVR working and installed, however sound doesn't work as it only plays via kodi player and not internal. I wouldn't use Pvr on Enigma2 at all.

I would mount your NAS in enigma 2 settings, then you can link them in Kodi, also play via iptv player (local media) and if set up a Plex server could even play via dreamplex plugin.

Many options.

I play 5.1 DTS and 1080p fine via my Vu+ Uno 4k.
