thanks have set this up every thing works fine but the picture quality is very poor any help to get a sharper picture will be much appreciated

You can make some adjustments in display settings but at the end of the day everyone's ideal picture quality will be different.

Menu-Setup-System-Display Setup (or Settings on some images)

Failing that TV adjustment or get the latest Panasonic. :)

There are 4 things you could look into:
1- make sure that all so-called improvement settings on your TV are completely turned off. Contrary to their name they actually destroy the picture;
2- Make sure that the scaler sharpness in A/V settings is set to the middle (= default, = actually turned off). Some people prefer it to be slightly to the right, giving a somewhat sharper picture, but also introduces some artefacts.
3- Make sure that scaler sharpness in Video Enhancement Settings is set to the default value (= 13). Never touch this one.
4- Make sure that in Video Enhancement Settings all the settings below 'Split preview mode' are set to zero (= default).
