I have original Vu+ Duo box running OpenVIX 2.2.100. I cannot stream IPTV and have tried various things. So my final solution was to update the Image.

Tried Vix 5 - STB stuck at Starting after flashing. The same happens if I flash rev 4 or 3. Upgraded Bootloader to CFE 3, still the same issue. Only old 2.2.100 works!

Examining contents of Vuplus/Duo folder within Rev 5,4 & 3 I see 5 files as compared to 3 in Vuplus/Duo folder. Why the latest rev have 5 files while the old rev has 3? Coould this be my problem?

The folder actually only needs to contain the two 2 flash files but quite often has 3, 4 or 5. So no this is not your problem.

Either you are trying to flash a bloated backup image or perhaps you might have a clone after all as bellejt intimates above?

I would suggest flashing with an image directly from source:
    OpenViX 5.0 Official Released!
If this fails then looks like you may have a clone.

I'm using the latest image directly from OpenVix website. No it's not a clone, 100% sure!

What are the 2 files the you need?

Also how is IPTV streaming? Is it worth me spending time on this box or it's best to go for another box that will do both CS and IPTV?

    Thanks

Going slightly off topic now but if you want to use IPTV use OpenPLi. Not sure you need a newer box but it never hurts to keep reasonably up-to-date. For example newer Vu+ boxes, starting with the Solo 2, run Kodi as well.

Which particular version of OpenPli and what Plugins?

2.2.100 had root_cfe_auto.jffs2,boot_cfe_auto.jffs2 and kernel_cfe_auto.bin. As you can see the latest Vix have root_cfe_auto.bin instead of root_cfe_auto.jffs2 i.e. diff file extenstions. Could this be the reason?

Also finally, whats the last Vix image which had the 3 files or .jffse extenstion?

How do I find the bootloader version using telnet?

    Thanks

just download from openvix and directly extract to usb stick.Stick in box and do update.Vix is working fine with iptv and CS but on VU duo you may need a swapfile. There is also a forum on openvix : http://www.world-of-satellite.com/forum.php

Swapfile? Aha may be this is what I need as I know my box is original and I want to remain with Vix rather then moving to Pli. I cannot access the forum. Can I find the info here about swapfile?

Qn: Is IPTV supported V2.2.100 as I can see the Bouquet and the channels but when I select the channel nothing happens!

Just coz a channel is listed does not mean the link to it is still live.

If there is not a menu option to create a swap file you will need to do it via telnet.

You will find the option to create one by pressing Blue >Vix >Swap Manager.

I managed to increase the swap file size to 96MB from the swap manager menu while still running Vix 2.2.100. I then telnet and typed free and I got 96MB. I checked to auto start too. However doesn't the swap fie size get overwritten/reset when flashing another image? Or once you do it once and then flash another image it remains the same?

    Does IPTV work on 2.2.100?

By the way it's an original box..Checked all the signs on the box...Dolby, V2, North Korea etc..Plus I can flash back my old image and all works well..I think the swap file might be an issue because it's stuck on starting!

Reading this i think you may need to update the bootloader in order to use more up to date images.
