Due to the size of this backup no picons are installed. I recommend using a USB stick for Picons downloaded from the forums Picon Section.

New Flashers will want to add the vuplus-images XBMC/KODI Addons Archive.
/media/hdd/.xbmc folder for newbies

Hi Donki, I'm currently enjoying this image & have been for 4 months, thanks!
Can you advise me on the image backup procedure for these 4k boxes? I've tried as normal with the VIX procedure, but I now see a zip which I've read should not be used via the image, only via USB. But it doesn't boot off any of my 9 different USB drives...

I'm not in trouble, yet, but if I should "brick" it, it would be warm & fuzzy to know how to get out of it.

Unzip the file and that will give you a new file called vuplus, copy the vuplus file to a usb, put usb on the box , power up n when prompted press and hold power button for a few seconds- this will boot to the new image from the usb

I personally use Backupsuite to do all my backups but normally I leave it on the image. So not sure what happened with this one but will take a look.
Find it most odd that ViX backup produces a zip file. This is a new one on me. It should create a folder on either HDD or USB called 'vuplus'. It may also create a 2nd backup but it would report this and location at the end of the process. If you are trying to backup the USB stick then it will not work unless you have a specific file in the root call 'mybackupstick' or similar. If trying to use a USB attached HDD then this may not be applicable.

There is no plugins when you go into download plugins. Also can’t seem to do online update on this image
