There is no program to automatically scan (as far as I am aware), there is however a program to setup the channel numbers/groupings for you.

I am sorry but I am not familiar with setting up a dvb-c tuner on BH, so not quite sure what options you have :(

What have you done so far? What problem are you having?

Assuming you haven't solved this already?

So your finding the channels when you scan? Are you switching to a 'FTA' (none encrypted cable channel) before scanning?

1. Have you got the cables.xml file in the right place?
2. Have you put in the correct, Net ID etc etc?
3. Is it actually finding channels as you scan?
4. Are you using autoboquets_c2 or the lite edition (and is DVBSnoop installed)?

If you still have problems please attach your cables.xml file or send it me via PM (if you prefer).

If you can either via the Web Interface or suitable plugin, a screen shot of your tuner setting for your DVB-C Tuner would be a great help.

If we still can't find the issue, I am willing to connect to your PC via Team Viewer to try to fix the mistake - if you want to take me up on that or not is Entirely your choice.**

**Team Viewer Support is normally a service that a number of sites normally offer to donated/VIP members in return to making a donation towards the fees of the site (I do not have access or receive any part of these), because I have not been around as much as I would have liked (nor is it my place) to insist you do so. Should you want team viewer support and/or donate to the forum upkeep is entirely your call.

Hi Banny

SuperTux put evetything in the correct location on his back up image.

But still no luck.

I am using a different image now and all is working.

It just must be the black hole back up image that causes me probs

lol

what image do you use ?

Have you a Duo 2 ?

Thanks

I am between boxes at the moment, but I have fixed and resolved issues on various boxes - DM500s/c, DM800 se, VU+ Duo, Openbox/Skyboxes, C/S Via Linux PC Server, Amiko Alien 2+ .

Gatekeepers got way too many and Christmas is coming up and all :laugh2:, I will be buying a new receiver soon :)

I am no expert, but I know a bit about some stuff - There are some real geniuses who contribute massively to this hobby, there are also some very clued up users who aren't involved in the creation of the software, plugins but post on this forum and others who know and have tried pretty much all aspects of the hobby.

My main areas of weakness are OSCAM Configs and setting multi users/servers (I get confused!!), Multi C/S and CSP as I have never really implemented or used them although I understand in principle how they work and the sytax for the configuration, its only when using it and fixing problems my understanding will become of any practical use.

I also have NVQ's in being a Keyboard Warrior and

Yeah it was probably Tux's fault, I like that explanation... lets go with that explination :mut:

But seriously, id still like to get to the cause of the problem, which image are you using that works?

Did you change the details to those for your area, before using scanning? Ive checked to see if anyone else has had issues with BH when scanning for DVB-C, but they haven't, and it looks to me from the post on the forum, that Tux's config is more based around DVB-S and S*y, I will check with him and revert back to you.

As I thought Tux doesn't have cable, and there is no mention that the cables.xml file or any of the addons/settings related to cable are included in that backup.

If your happy with the image you have stick to it.

If not then please at least try the advice given and/or reply to the questions asked of you to be able to assist you, and come back with the information and any additional progress made.

Some backup(s) (maybe a lot of the backups, who knows what the future brings) won't be setup for cable, and if/when you resolve this should you be using such an image in the future there is a good chance, you could resolve it or at least have a reasonable attempt at it without having to wait for a reply.

Please go through post #6 again and come back to me, if you want to get it working.

Ok, put the attached cables.xml (after you have extracted it ofc) in your etc/tuxbox folder (im assuming its in the same location on BH??) via FTP overwrite the old file. Check the file chmod/permissions are 755
Place the DVBSnoop IPK in your /tmp/ folder (check 755 again) Install DVB Snoop as you would any other plugin
The contents of the AutoBouquets_C2_UltraLite will have to be installed manually, to \usr\lib\enigma2\python\Plugins\Extensions\AutoBouquets_C2 (the folder structure is in the rar file anyway). Check the folder and files have 755 permission.

Next Reboot your box, do a fresh scan, browse to a 'FTA' channel eg ITV, then go to the plugins section and choose autoboquet_c2, choose 'First Available' when this has complete you may have to reboot your box or at least e2 to see the bouquet changes, if this doesn't work then try choosing your area.

View attachment dvbsnoop_0.0+cvs20081001-r1_mips32el.ipk
View attachment AutoBouquets_C2_UltraLite_201406011500.rar

Im hoping for :firework: at this point :)

If not don't call me ill call you lol :) No seriously, please let us know either way.

Only go back on BH if its what you want!

Another tip I learnt the hard way, don't need to start from scratch all the time, take a backup of your current image (always got a fall back position), and unless you get to the point where you are getting a 'Screen of Death' all the time id ov taken a backup of the progress I had made on BH so I could go back to it quicker. Getting into that habbit will save you a lot of time in the future :)

There are multi-booting options, but I have never got round to trying to even start setting one up... I steer clear and suggest you do also at least for now :hi5:
