Reuters releases Apple TV app
Reuters has released an over-the-top (OTT) app for Apple TV.
Following the launch of Reuters TV for iPhone and iPad earlier this year, Reuters TV for Apple TV extends the on-demand mobile TV service to viewers’ living rooms. The app is exclusively available on the Apple TV App Store.
Reuters TV is aimed at a growing segment of informed, mobile and globally engaged consumers who are too busy to watch traditional TV news at a fixed time and length.
“Reuters TV's expansion onto Apple TV is part of an ongoing plan to deliver our content to more users on more platforms,” said Isaac Showman, managing director of Reuters TV. “We already know our viewers are deeply engaged with Reuters TV on iPad and iPhone, and the new Apple TV app offers another way for them to access our visually striking programming on a larger screen."
Editorial content for Reuters TV, including a signature news show, Reuters Now, is produced exclusively for the service and draws upon Reuters’ reach from 2,500 journalists in nearly 200 locations. In order to deliver the service’s variable programme lengths, all content is produced in multiple versions and organised by editorial teams in London, Hong Kong, New York and Washington DC.
