Tuner Support Run in to bit of a problem: Vu+ Turbo SE C/T2 Hybrid Tuner

Hi.

I have a Vu+ Uno 4K with the latest Black Hole 3.0.9.N on it and it does not support the new Vu+ Turbo SE C/T2 USB tuner and it does also look like that there will be absolutely no help from the side of the creators of Black Hole image to actually add the support of the new Turbo SE tuner in a later version.

So i'm looking in to alternative images that might get the support instead, such as VTi or another one, which actually is willing to focus on original USB tuners from Vu+ them selves.
So far i'm only aware about that Vu+ them selves have added the support for the brand new SE tuner to their own images, but considering that their own image for the Vu+ Uno 4K is very hadicapped when it comes to USB recording, then their original image is naturally no option.

Does any one know if VTi or one of the others might offer better support and add the support for the Vu+ Turbo SE C/T2 Hybrid tuner at some point?

Looks like this is a pretty new 'kid' on the block.

If BH are not supporting it then it is most likely down to them either not having the drivers from Vu+ to be able to do so yet or not released an update with the driver. We have seen this so often with new HW releases. It took a year for for VU+ to release drivers for the Ultimo4K to the SPA team. So I doubt any developer will have them included yet.

Suggest you could install Neoboot & install several images to try to find out coz I think it might be a high hope to wait to see if anyone here will also already have that tuner & a solution.

I assume it did not ship with any drivers & there are none posted on vuplus.com that I can see so worst case is either wait or write to Vuplus for a solution to this.

I also do think its a new one, because only a few months ago i noticed that people began at various forums complaining about, that they could not find the Turbo tuner any where for their Vu+ in the online shops and then all of a sudden this new Turbo SE entered the scene, obviously an upgraded model of the old now all of a sudden vanished one.
No drivers delivered with the Turbo SE, its sold on the premise that all Enigma 2 boxes are actually suppose to support it, so obviously only the original images from Vu+, Dream Multimedia etc. must have the support in their latest images.

So i will just wait it out and see what happens, because it does seem that many others also will end up with the Turbo SE eventually and perhaps find a solution, which will spread among all the 3rd party image creators.

I checked the release notes for Openpli 7.3 at their place, the support has not been added for the newer Turbo SE, so i'm not sure if its gonna work.
Black Hole is also suppose to support the Turbo tuner, but as i found out there, just not the newer Turbo SE.
But i can give it a shot this weekend with Openpli 7.3 to see if it works and report back if its a hit or miss.

Now tested the Turbo SE tuner, sadly no support in Openpli 7.3
But at least i now have a not so cluttered image and an actual better looking DVB radio on my Vu+ Uno 4K.
I'm just gonna wait it out and see what the future brings, because it should be strange if some one does not add support for the Turbo SE at some point.

I tried OpenPLi, Pure2, OBH. Of course with dvb-usb-turbo (1.0-r02) driver instaled. Tuner was NOT recognized.
Turbo SE works on VTi and BH images, without any special driver instalation.
Receiver used: VU Solo2.

Thanks for the tip, i will check out the latest VTi when i get the time to flash my Uno 4K with that image.
Have also heard from others that this also should be a good image and less cluttered as the BH is.

Unfortunatly i can't confirm that the Turbo SE will work under the latest VTi, which is being shared here on the forum, which is:
VTi_14-0-6_vuuno4k_202004291438_usb

Tuner is found yes, but when trying searching for DVB-C channels at my cable provider, i instead get an error massage that it can't begin to scan for channels.
So it looks like the Turbo SE is still not fully supported in VTi.

So i'm reverting back to OpenPLI for now, then i can wait as see what the BH 3.0.9.O has to tell once they have released it as a fully flashable image that can be downloaded at their place.

Inoticed while building obh that they added a patch for it so should work here too, also less cluttered than the original BH image so may suit you better.

Don't automatic scan! Scan frequencyes one by one, manualy.

I also bought the Turbo SE tuner to use on my vuzero4k box with OpenPli 7.3
With the ct2-usb-dvbsky-t330 (1.0-r0.0) drivers from the plugin feed it is working.
However major problem is the box completely freezing when zap to a DVB-C channel after having watched DVB-S2 for a while.

All channels of my cable provider are broadcasted in QAM256.
Problem is not image freezing while watching, that part seems to be very stable.
Also heavy zapping between DVB-C channels is fine.
For some unknown reason after some zapping between satellite & cable channels the box hangs when selecting the DVB-C channel.
I'm suspect that oscam dvbapi (PMT mode=6) is triggering the crash. I'm testing right now on FTA channels to see if problem can be reproduced with oscam disabled.

No problems noticed anymore during extensive zapping between satellite & cable FTA channels with oscam disabled.
Meanwhile I have enabled oscam again but using PMT mode=0. So far the box didn't hang :)
