Slovakia has the first 4K channel on the satellite - 213 sports test
The Belarusian telecommunication satellite Belintersat 1 at position 51.5 ° E started the technical distribution tests of the program in Ultra HD resolution. Slovak sports station 213 launched its promo loop, which promises to start station 213 4K.
Demo loop 213 4K appeared in the Pantelio distribution multiplex. Pantelio uses a total of three 54 MHz transponders to broadcast on both the SD and HD channels, mostly in the MPEG-4 / H.264 format, for tests on the Belintesat satellite 1. All stations are encoded by PanAccess, the Pantelio demo loop is broadcast as well as Slovak regional stations - TV Severka, TV Vega, TV Zemplín, TV9, TV Považie, TV7, TV Bratislava and TV Central.
Channel 213 4K occupied the capacity of the Pantelio multiplex on 11,410 GHz, pol. H. The station is broadcast in a new HEVC codec (H.265) at 3840x2160 (4K) with video bit rate of about 18.4 Mbit / s and AAC audio and variable data stream of about 100 kbit / s.
Program loop 213 4K promises to start regular broadcasting in the foreseeable future. 213 will become the first station in Slovakia to broadcast in the new format.
TV station 213 began broadcasting in October 2016 and focused on Slovak sport. Since its launch, the program has been provided in both SD and HD resolutions. The Thor 6 satellite (0.8 ° W) started in SD, in the spring of this year, the Astra 3B station appeared in HD resolution. The program is therefore available on the two most requested orbital positions in Slovakia.
