Sky has launched a MAJOR new update, and you might not recognise your Sky+ HD box anymore
SKY is pushing out a brand-new update for Sky+ HD boxes that brings a redesigned homepage and new features to help your next binge-watching spree to the hugely-popular satellite set-top box.
Sky has unveiled an all-new design for the Sky+ Homepage. The new Top Picks banner populates the lower half of your television with beautiful movie artwork and promotional shots for popular TV shows. Depending on your current subscription plan, Sky will handpick new box sets, sport highlights, kids’ favourites or the latest movies from Sky Cinema. Top Picks will be updated regularly and will include on-demand and linear programmes.

Sky says its new Top Picks banner is designed to help customers discover more must-see television to watch. The UK broadcaster debuted this new emphasis on curated content with Sky Q, which hides the traditional TV Guide at the top of its homepage in favour of handpicked lists of new content. TV Guide remains in a prominent position on Sky+ HD boxes, but the tab is significantly smaller in the new update.
Sky has also shrunk the Search Bar and completely removed the tabs for Accessibility, Parental Control & PIN, Radio, Settings Options, Get Sky Products, My Account and Help menus. These can now be accessed via the Services button on the Sky TV remote.
This all-new tab in the Planner will let you quickly pick up where they last left off in an episode

Director of TV and Content Products for Sky, Luke Bradley-Jones said: "We know that customers are watching even more TV, and with every update to Sky+ we’re making it even better. "Since the Homepage was launched on demand viewing has increased by 209 per cent.
"That’s why we’re introducing Top Picks, a brand new Homepage section, telling our customers about even more fantastic shows, both live and On Demand, recommended by our TV experts."
Sky+ HD will also include new features to help your next binge-watching spree. The first – dubbed Download Next – will automatically download the next episode of any series you are watching. Another new addition to your Sky+ HD box is Continue Watching. This all-new tab in the Planner will let you quickly pick up where they last left off in an episode or series.
Sky has also included a new blue bar that appears across recordings in the Planner, highlighting how much of a programme has been watched.
This was another feature that made its debut in Sky Q, which was released earlier this year. The latest software update is currently rolling out to Sky+ customers. Make sure your hardware is connected to a broadband connection to ensure you get all of the latest features.
