This morning sees all Sty IT channels go into the darkness as caids 09cd, 093b, 0919 are paired off to prevent further card sharing.

Germany will go in January too and not just HD it is being reported.

This only leaves us wondering how much longer it will be before the UK follows.

I hate being the bringer of sad tidings but there is no sense hiding one's head in the sand either.

I suspect IPTV peddlers will be rubbing their hands with glee at this news!

Same here mate but it is best that people are informed as soon as possible, rather than being caught out and unaware...

Happy Christmas to you as well Rupert Murdoch, hope you choke on your Christmas Lunch, especially as it was S*y that was one of the fastest hackers on the scene *ahem* ITV Digital.

Reminds me of a song...

@DirtyDonki - Doesn't seem to be any info around at the moment, which just goes to show how promptly you have put this out there :)

Police raids Sky Italia card-sharing network

The Italian Tax Police performed a raid in different Italian cities to fight a card-sharing network offering Sky Italia and Mediaset Premium packages, reports the AAPA.

Quoting Italian news sources, the Audiovisual Anti-Piracy Alliance said that Sky Italia provided technical support for the operation. The operation took place last month.

The card sharing network operators offered service packages and television broadcasts for less than 80% of the legitimate offer price. The network also offered customer support 24 hours a day, seven days a week; on-line, by telephone and at home.

The damage to the market has been estimated at around a million Euros. Nine people associated with the pirate activity have been accused and 83 customers identified. The large police search also led to the seizure of several decoders and computer equipment and dozens of hard drives, which are used both by the members of the card-sharing network and customers.

The investigation, which lasted about a year, resulted in seizing computer terminals connected to the network which was the base of the operations from where they decoded encrypted audiovisual signals and streamed in real time via the web to customers. Several servers, all located outside Italy, were used to “support” the quality of the distributed signals.

Dear trade partners,
We are writing to inform you that, due to the necessary software updates the current HD satellite receiver only until 10:01. Can be issued in 2016.
All receivers that are already at that time with the customer, the update automatically and can still be used.

Receiver that work even after 01.10.2016 and no external software update are marked for better visibility with a yellow dot on the sandwich label.

We would ask you to spend first HD SAT devices without yellow dot to customers, since these from the 01.10.2016 can no longer be used!
To facilitate the "first in first out" principle, you will receive in the future on the issue of a receiver with yellow point during Aboaufnahme, the following notice (only if you have devices without yellow dot in the backlog):

-When Clicking "OK", the serial number is removed from the box,

-When "Cancel" you can enter the serial number still spend; but this is only recommended as a last resort, for example, if no device is discoverable without yellow dot. Other oral testimony:

At 18:01. to the conversion of the "encryption system" carried out so that all cards do only paired according field staff.

Seems a bit of a waste of time considering it can not longer be shared anyway but I guess better late than never.

Am I right in thinking the 4K STB are useless then even for the Germans as they have no FTA 4K channels
and the same for all others
Just thinking is it time to pack in the fun
Also the new red card that peeps were getting on multi room will go off as well so all that singed up are doomed ?

No one can predict the future with regard to 4K. I would not go anywhere near to saying the STB's are or ever will be useless as you will be able to stream 4k and play your own 4k locally hosted content on them.

No one can know either whether, unlike HD, all TV will eventually move to 4k nor when but we do know SD's days must surely be numbered because it is unwatchable on a flat screen larger than 32". I'd go as far as to say it is actually unhealthy for ones eyes.

If I was buying a box again now it would be the 4k version but TBH my Duo2 is still well within its sell by date. Besides er indoors would kill me.

Is Sty going to be as big miss?

From my perspective, NO. I can honestly state that I have not watched anything on IT or UK for longer than I can remember coz the programming is just a continuous procession of repeats; but everybody knows that already. :D

I am only into the football. The other stuff I can, and always have, sourced elsewhere. OK, on sat it's become an ever increasing challenge to get the footie, but always seem to find somewhere or some alternative means to date. AND I refuse to watch SD unless I'm forced to. Enuff said there. :D

Something has and always will turn up.

Maybe the next phase of computers, will be able to offer the power needed to find the correct CW's

Google appears to be more confident about the technical capabilities of its D-Wave 2X quantum computer, which it operates alongside NASA at the U.S. space agency’s Ames Research Center in Mountain View, California.

D-Wave’s machines are the closest thing we have today to quantum computing, which works with quantum bits, or qubits — each of which can be zero or one or both — instead of more conventional bits. The superposition of these qubits enable machines to make great numbers of computations simultaneously, making a quantum computer highly desirable for certain types of processes.

In two tests, the Google Quantum Artificial Intelligence Lab today announced that it has found the D-Wave machine to be considerably faster than simulated annealing — a simulation of quantum computation on a classical computer chip.

So old fashioned you two :p

I was thinking more along the lines of Google happily donating the equipment to use, we could store it with in a server farm, and use it like this 'cloud' ive heard so much about.

We could then write an algorithm make use of 'divide and conquer' /recursive techniques to derive the answer.

I've even started the code

Can't be that far off a fully working solution now right?

I think it needs to be less complicated and more streamlined so the cloud server clusters have full fiber access to the storage. Otherwise the heartbeat vLAN will fall behind the RTC.

Yes the same here DirtyDonki I only use my Solo2 for football, and I couldn't tell you the last time I watched Sly IT or Sly DE, however I will miss Sly UK.
I have been looking at IPTV options through my Samsung Smart TV.

Time will tell, and DD your totally right I completely overlooked that fact

We will of course need a D:Wave to shadow the live system, so it comes live should current live system go down for any reason.

If the c/s goes down then all vu+ versions need to be scraped or there is a way how resolve the problem and convert it like an IPTV box ?

If the box cannot convert which is the best IPTV box and approx how much it is expensive ?

It'seems that the world is going that way !
