General VU+ Receiver Discussion Trying Different Images

how far did you get with setting up the vix image you installed yesterday, or where did you get stuck.

Yeah it went fine but I like to experiment

I also have a nuc with xmbc or kodi which I would like to point to the Duo2 and also a qnap nas drive.

Good Stuff! The most popular images seem to be those from OpenATV, Black Hole, Vix and OpenPli - try images from different teams, you may find one you prefer.

I used OpenATV when I was setting an Alien receiver up for a friend and it grew on me so thats where ive started this time

Is there any difference is picture quality between the images?

also is there a way to get tabs on top of the EPG like sky does to change say from Kids to lifestyle etc.?

No difference in picture quality as long as you have set the same resolution in the display settings, its still the same box outputting to the same device.

Thats quite specific, don't think you can have tabs on top of the EPG well there is no way to set it that way, perhaps there is a skin that has that sort of appearance, ill keep an eye out but best you may be best directing that question to the skins section.
