Hello all,
As the title"VU+ 4k Uno SE remote Volume control and mute not working". I have recently bought the unit 2nd hand and there was OpenVix 4.4 installed and both volume and remote worked fine. I put a later image on OpenVix 5.4.003 and the volume and remote don't work. I have an old VU+ Solo2 and the remote works fine on vol and mute. I was going to try setting the remote using the 2 and 7 --> help -->0001 or 0002 but there is no light after holding the 2&7 for 3 or 4 seconds. It's not a massive issue as I have volume control an my TV and can always revert to the old remote.

Changing the remote code will not change the functionality.

Also 2 - 7 is for the older type remote. I suspect you may have a newer type?

Could it be that the RCU was previously programmed for use with a TV & as such is set to control the TV's volume & muting directly which is normally what happens?

Worthy of note here is that programming it to control the TV is different from the standard Vu+ process of using the 1 & 3 keys. One now needs to hold the TV & OK keys instead but this information is readily available in most recent 4K Vu+ STB manuals.

Suggest you read the instructions on how to reset the remote or perhaps even reprogram it for your own TV on page 69 of your manual before you dig a big hole for yourself by trying to change to much on your current image.

Manual can be downloaded from here:

Hi DirtyDonald thanks for replying with the solution, it was programmed for TV and not STB.

The problem was....me... I really must learn to RTFM.

Volume Punch (volume+/-, mute key setup) to stb mode:
a) Press STB power + OK for 3 seconds or until red light is on
b) Press STB power key
c) RED LED blinks 2 times then off.

Well I have the same issue with my remote controll (bluetooth). I tried the suggestions from page 69 but nothing helps.
