could I install Kodi on this? I have tried few times not nothing happens. like it does not install.

I believe you will be able to once Vu+ release updated drivers that support Kodi. If ever they do of course.

But on the other hand if I am being an :donky: and you are actually referring to the Kodi direct plugin then that should install OK. What error are you getting?

Sorry was referring to the Kodi Direct plugin tried to install it along with the addon folder but nothing can't see an option for it.

It will not work until the dependency, python_sqlite is installed which you will find under dependencies in the vuplus addons panel.
It stores its plugins in:

Hi buddy

IT will depends on where you are storing your picons. Due to the size of my picon collection I am forced to have them on USB. So all my images are set to look for LCD picons as shown below:


If you need to change that location then you will need to go:

This will get you to the screen above where you can change either path to suit your own preference.

All these back up images are great. Is it possible that they could have a cable channel list set put so it ready to ether rescan or pop in the file to make the chans work ? Just like the have cats eyes set up.

It's impossible to cater for everyone in a single backup and as neither Ten nor I live in a cable we are unable to test cable stuff. For that reason alone we tend not to include anything for cable in our backups. Every region has it's own profile. So it would be impossible to cover this off. If Catseye's Settings have cable included and you can live with the branding then why not just use his settings? I am certainly not even tempted to pinch his bit to use in my settings.

The settings we put on our backups do not mean one is compelled to keep and use them BTW.

You may also consider downloading and installing the Autobouquets plugin for cable which will enable you to generate your own list and make the world you oyster.

like a numpty I went into system - > software manager to try and bckup my whole image but instead was looking at the updates available and by accident i pressed ok which start removing and installing all sorts of updates and now after rebooting the player is stuck on the Open ATV logo screen and nothing even after hard reset from the rocker switch.

my wife's going to kill me as i had it just about right and not having any backups of the recent image not sure what do you is there any way i can get back in again?

or are we talking complete reflash?

any advice appreciated as always

I noticed on both ATV & ViX that the latest round of updates seem to kill one or two items. In particular XBMC which one then has to uninstall via the addons and then reinstall for all to be well again but I have not seen either image fail completely as you describe my friend. Ouch that sucks ass. So my take on this is that is should boot again. If you have a USB stick inserted removed it and try again. Other than that if you did not install a dodgy skin or similar there's not much for it but to re-flash it. Sorry.

Probably, late now but I strongly recommend doing a complete backup every now and then and especially before doing system updates.

Update: If you have not done a system update for a long time then there will be loads of changes and it is recommended to do a re-flash but ATV normally warns you of this risk before it let's you action the updates. I also decided to give it a go but was unable to replicate a failure. It decided to be awkward and booted for me. :angry-mob:

Yes but you will have make sure you backup them up first as there is no online option to upgrade available.

At a guess I would suggest going into Network Settings and having a look to see what entries are in there. Might be that it has retained my local router IP? If that were so however, I'm sure someone else would have raised this before. If it is set to static then I'd suggest setting it to DHCP, restart E2 & then set it back to what you want or just check the gateway & DNS matches your router IP.

Ok...I have BH 217 in flash and this image in Multiboot

Both WLAN and LAN working ok in flash

LAN working fine in this image...ok

But....after a WLAN scan ..."No wireless connections found"There is about 8/9 in range....

Tried almost every thing

That's interesting because no matter how I tried I could not get any images to work using multiboot with any version of BH in flash. It was not until openmultiboot came out that I began to have success.

But..........to cut a long story short........I have OpenSPA 4 in flash and this one on HDD and although I never use WLAN myself just tried and it was AOK.

So I can only conclude that there is some incompatibility somewhere otherwise it doesn't make any sense at all.

Why I need this working....given up BT landline and BB...Gone to Mobile BB MIFI....so no hard wired connections.As I say I can get WLAN working.but not in the configuration I have now....will play around next few days....important rugby league match at 8 must not miss...being a Wiganer
