Many thanks for all of your help and input. Earlier today I downloaded version 5.1 of ATV and run with that image. As I didnt back up my files correctly I had to do a clean install and find the addons needed and configured as best I could. I eventually got XBMC working (although I didnt do any of the hard work as this time it installed correctly). KODIdirect loads up but when it goes to link to the movie or tv files I just get a please wait message and a spinning icon. I updated Genesis through the add on panel and am happy to say I now have a box thatwill run XBMC......So a big thank you for that. I am now tempted to install ver 5.1 backup image as it will come pre configured. I am struggling to get my head around the EPG so I think installing a backup image may be best. I will post and let you know how things go.....

Yes when I installed from the original build ATV5.zip I didnt get the .xbmc folder on hdd or root. It just didnt show. However when I tried using ATV5.1 it worked find and when I FTP into the box I can see the .xmbc folder in the correct place. Cheers again for all the help.

Still trying to find an image I like for my duo2. Liking the look of this I gave it a go last night. XBMC however not working for me, goes blank screen and then back to the plugins menu. Tried reloading .xmbc folder with the 'one for newbies', still no joy. Strange, cause it was working on my previous image. Any ideas?
As someone with limited time and patience I think I might just now try the latest open VTI image by 'ten'.

I installed a clean image..OpenAtv 5....downloaded XBMC from plug ins panel....installed /media/hdd/.xbmc folder for newbies.......works fine....

I'd be inclined not to use v5.0 anymore as it has been superseded but XBMC would not be affected by this.
Ah right. So using this image its the xbmc launcher that fails, but william said he downloaded it from plugins. So does this mean it needs reinstalling to replace the existing one? (sorry away from my box atm)

You could try uninstalling any version of XBMC that you have...and do an install from plug ins panel...nothing to lose...lol
Oh right, I sorted it last night anyway, loaded the 5.1 version by ’DD’. I think I loaded the 5.0 version first, only because it was higher up the list and I didn’t notice the newer one further down the list. Anyway, thanks for the images guys, it’s really great having all the useful stuff added in ready for you!
