While installing BH 3.0.9, the image installed successfully but after reboot, the box showed FPGA update/writing/erasing and then HW error. I tried many images including vu original factory images but the result remain the same. Then i tried old BH images and found BH images up-to 2.0.7 work and after that no image work and box after reboot stuck at HW error.
Furthermore, my box is genuine/not clone, purchased from reputable seller.

Pls advice and guide that what is the problem/solution to upograde FPGA so that i may install new images.

Thanks

Its not nand it must be a security chip error . most popular fpg upgrade method is in the below link .
Please, Log in or Register to view URLs content!

If it doesnt work then in my opinion :
a. send us putty log
b. some years before I had written a tutorial how to successfully recoverd solo2 and solo2 se with hyper terminal there were some of modified files ( workable also with original) try that method . try google search i dont find it here .
c. BBS tool is the the best option also( with the help of cypress board. which I mostly trust to recover box)
d. replace mother board .

@ Ten Below, thanks. I have already checked/tried almost all vu original firmwares mentioned by you and none is working and i am getting same HW error after reboot.
The files mentioned by Bro Aliraza may be my last chance to recover the box so i need the said files which are only available at above mentioned site under VU section (uploaded by Bro aliraza a few years back on said site).

Regards

Still I strongly believe its Security Chip error (fpg chip). But just for the helping purpose I m sharing that file from the link u visited .
If it doesnt work then share logs here I will see if I have some thing other tool .
Do u have cypress board if u have it then it will be easy to find out about nand to.

fpe sending command to securtiy chip but its not responding back .
1 .remove front panel and then try see what it shows then
2 if u have any other box near u check it with that box's front panel.
3. I believe johnny's reply is the final answer here .

@ Aliraza, thanks, the front panel of box is perfectly working and it is showing VU+ Solo2 (as i have installed BH 2.0.7 ).

2nd option: as you suggested above:

Since the box is in working condition (currently i have installed BH 2.0.7 image and it is working perfectly). In this image, in plugin menu, there is Firmware upgrade plugin (to upgrade FPGA) which we may use to update fpga chip using usb. Unfortunately i dont have required update files (bootloader + mds files), so if you have these files or any link to download said files. i think that this trick may work

Hi
I have always used the online update method . If u dont see in feed .may be they had removed in 2016. after major changes in driver data base they had made clone hunters which worked through drivers . the last fpg update I had seen it was the same as used in clone 2015. .. Because in those days drivers were only able to read bin data in security chip not to change its binary numbers .
Just for the information purpose I m sharing that last time used files here .
I am not sure it will work in ur case or not because if the security chip has bad sector it will not regenerate and read the bin codes.
Anyway file is here

thanks, i think that i have already tried this file (USB_FPG_UPDATE) shared by Jhonny (on his site). unfortunately, it did not work and i got following error:

Error 5 input/output error

I think that input/output error means that the chip is locked/write protected so it is not accepting any updates.

2. i am sharing picture of 2.0.7 image currently installed as under:

However, i will also check your files, and post result

Yes it means it has a bug not allowing to over write the data. unfortunately we dont have any cleaner for it .except it give a try to rewrite a boot loader through bbs tool and test it but it will not clear its chip as well.because nand flash and security both are two different things and have different functions..

Hello Aliraza, i have tested your files, again getting same error:

Error 5, input/output error

Now after all tests, following are my observations as under:

1. The box remained working more than 4-5 years without any problems
2. During this period, i installed all different lastest firmwares (Blackhole, Openpli, Openatv etc) hundred of times and it worked flawlessly.
3. Last week when i tried to install BH 3.0.9, after reboot it showed HW error
4. The box seems to be genuine, purchased from DMM Dubai, authorized dealer of DM in Middle East.
5. The HW error means that either the nand chip is defective or the box is clone.
6. The nand chip is not available in our area so i have no option but to use box as it is or dispose off it.

Ic but its not a nand chip error .box is working fine in old firmwares. this is its security chip which is not identifying the updated binary codes.. the image u have used like bh 2.0.7 it has old drivers which were not modified to run clone hunters ( in various enigma2 files ). Currently there is one option to (as u already know security chip is not available now.) replace the motherboard.
