I use open pli. Why it was on my vu+Solo2
Could someone please explain The difference between the images. Black hole.
ATV . Open pli & more.

There all Linux based is a start
Different vu recivers work better with what image.

Well, there is not much difference between the images. But what is differend? Some images have differend download feeds (some with and some without cams, some with less plugins the other etc.). Some images are easyer for beginners (VTI) then others (ATV). Some images have better support then others.

The main difference for me is, that images working differend on the same stb.

So what image do you use and why.

I just looked at open black hole . There is an explanation there of what it is and what it does what it will allow you to do ...
That explernation.... Should be a sticky......
Thanks

Yes, every Image has an explernation no matter which one it is. You find the explanation to an image by the specific team and there board. With all the avalible plugins for each image (specialy skins) you will find out that some images don´t support one or the other plugin.

Exemple:
For VIX or Blackhole you can get the sky skin which i really like, but this skin is not supported for the VTI image. For me until know VTI was the best working image on my stb, but without the sky skin. So, if i whant to use the sky skin i have to swop for a different image. At the moment i´m using the latest ATV (BU from here) image , because of that.

By doing that i found out that the VTI feeds not as good as the ATV feeds, i found out that other little thinks working better in the VTI then in ATV images. All this you have to find out for yourself, evry image works differend of your stb. Switching channels is much faster with the VTI then the ATV image, but the best image on this point is BH Image for me.

Like i said, every Image works differend for each user. You have to choose the image by what you whant and what you like or need. Here on the vuplus-images board we´re trying to help users with their daily problems. You can even download backup images with exact explanations what they got in it (like cams and plugins). For thees images you get all the support you need.

OpenPLi 5.0
OpenATV 5.3

But for the masses OpenATV 5.3 and a latest OpenVIX would be most simplistic for use/support, also take all Sly look skins..

As for a "sticky" on preferred/best images you couldn't really do that as every thing is OPINION, everyone's favs may differ, i.e someone loves Blackhole but I hate setting one of them up, why as someone loves Vix but hates OpenATV and vice versa, best bet is try a few let them run and see how you find it.

Check out the vu solo 2 backup images

This is interesting because what your writing here is telling me .And hopefully others what they want to know. . About the different firmware
As I said before I now use openpli5 . From ten below . He has helped me alot.
I would still be using pli _4 with kodidirect if it wasn't for this forum
..........
The sticky would be just at the start of each Firmware

Or even better a separate list called
What can this firmware do 4 U haha
to tell the readers what it can do .Or based on in

Top Bottom
