Like Sty, Walk Walk & BT (inc Pussnet), Virmin have a big interest in this area. So they will send shyte like this out to people even if they have NOT actually monitored you at all. 
In my case the only reason I see for using a VPN would be to watch foreign TV on the web or via direct stream as I am with an ISP that does not monitor my activity nor block anything including T*B*P & P*W etc.
My stance is stop making scum company's rich and shop elsewhere for your services until these scum company's offer their services with ALL options and at reasonable prices.
