Edit Settings

  1. Save Playlist on exit: The current playlist is saved including the repeat and shuffle play of the current track status, and
  2. Repeat playlist: After playing the last track is played from the first track, otherwise playback ends.
  3. Representation of the playlist. There are five sizes to choose from: file name without extension, file name and extension, title, title and artist as well as artist and title. We setting when transferring from one or more titles from the file in the playlist effectively. The last three options are useful only when appropriate ID3 tags are present, from which the information can be read and are using the file list slowly because of the necessary reading of tags.
  4. Beginning of the file directory list
  5. Remember current directory when you quit: The current directory of the file list is taken as the beginning of a new directory when you exit the player.
  6. Directory for all lyrics. When enabled, all song texts are stored in the input menu under item 7 directory, otherwise in the accompanying songs directory.
  7. Directory for lyrics. If item 6 is activated, the lyrics are stored in this directory.
  8. Directory for playlists. Here the external stored playlists are stored
  9. Use Google to search for album covers. This search function searches, especially with samplers, primarily by cover art for each title, and only then after the album itself. If no Internet access, the function should be disabled because the timeout to abort the search is 30 seconds.
  10. YAMP database directory. Specifies the directory in which the database will be stored yamp.db (HDD or USB-Stick)
  11. Show titles only once in Artist / Genre selection. Are by an artist / genre several titles with the same name exists in the database, only one is displayed in the corresponding lists.
  12. Standard notation for title and artist. Title and artists are told simplified, written with an initial capital letter and subsequent lowercase. This is useful if you have different spellings in the ID3 tags. The option works less well in English words well, in other languages.
  13. Wait time for screensaver. In seconds to the start of the screensaver. Note: The screensaver starts only with active playlist. When entering "0", the screen saver still be enabled manually.
  14. Kind of ScreenSavers. Alternatives: Dark screen, built-in slideshow, custom slideshow.
  15. Time for slide change in seconds.
  16. Directory for slides at their own slideshow.
  17. YAMP Show in extension menu. Changing this option requires a restart GUI.
  18. YAMP in the main menu. Changing this option requires a restart GUI.
  19. Confirm end of the program: After pressing the exit button is done before the end of the program nor a security question.

YAMP - Yet Another Music Player or in good German: "Yet another music player" is based on the Media Player of VTI Images, the Media Player of OpenPLi Images and the Merlin Music Player besides Idream database. The name YAMP there for a similar project already in the 90s of the last millennium - I just hope that there it is no copyright.

The basic idea of the player: All song to be played must first be transferred to the playlist and then play from there in turn. During playback of the playlist not only more tracks can be added but are also deleted from the playlist, or be inserted immediately after the current track and play immediately. The playlists you create can be stored in e2pls format.

For each title, the appropriate cover can be removed from the ID3 tag or automatically search the Internet and displayed. Alternatively, a cover can be stored in the song list, for example, If no ID3 tags are present. The retrieval of the associated Song text is also possible to continue the saving as a text file. The database allows a selection by artist, album or genre. In the database titles twice contained can optionally be hidden.

The player supports m3u all file formats that can be played from the VU and playlists of formats pls and e2pls. It runs only in conjunction with an HD skin.

To service:

The aim was to reach all important functions with a single keystroke. For example, add the green button title to the playlist and then added to the next track, that is multiple tracks can be added simply by repeatedly pressing the green button and the same applies to adding the title one whole directory. The play button adds e.g. the selected track after the current title, plays it, and then continues the playlist.

The exact function of each FB-keys can be found in the attached YAMP doc. (As of version 2.4.1)

For the non German speaking members of the list, I have provided a documentation in english language. Have fun!
