Hardware Support can only use webif to accees remote =help??

Got a seondhand box and just found that neither the buttons on front of box or the remote work!! Its a vix image and the only way I can access box is via webif BUT this is a no no. I looked at all the settings but cant see where remote can be activated.

The front display is blank as well.

The remote should not need activated mate so guessing you bought it as spares/repairs/not working?
I would reflash it, change the remote batteries then hope for the best. failing that return & get a refund.

Hi, I have been scammed but I can access with DCC as well as webif. I tried a re-flash but because front buttons are not working you cant press ok. I then tried a factory reset and after its restored its still vix image. Is there anyway I could do a reflash from the box itself, ie ftp it etc.

Yes look at blue > vix >image manager there should be the option to do what is known as couch flashing where you upload the image by ftp then flash via the menu.

Could this have anything to do with the Remote Coding being different within E2 itself? I seem to remember One of our friends fecked up an image but have the wrong code set in it. Just wonder if the Xtrend one might be different from the default?

Another option if you have an Android device is to install a compatible virtual remote on to it.

' dirty donki, box is supposedly bought in April, seller said when I queried it, they NEVER used remote!! Its possible they used that android thingy. I do have an android phone as a spare where would I get virtual remote from?

Here's how to find the one I use.

Click on the Playstore on your device & search for Enigma2 Remote Control.

• Install and run.

Click settings within the App.

• Set your IP Address.
• Untick login.
• Save.

Enjoy.

Thank you. Got it and its neat, my problem is I wear glasses for long vision so would have to keep taking them on and off!! I found out why the remote was not working, I am not happy but not a hope of getting money back. The internal HDD was just left on its caddy ie not secured with screws, ok if box is left lying flat but if sent by a courier not a good idea. Here are the pics. I had to straighten the pins on the connector on the front panel. Dont like look of all that white stuff. 3 pics, one of a new box, other one was how I found it when opened and 3 one shows it with cable re-seated. Fingers crossed, remote works as per normal. Its got vix on it which I dont know anything about and the xtrend is a new venture as well. The story is the cable was dislodged by the hdd moving about, its possible, I am not sure but..it was not well wrapped in the first place. NB always pay by paypal, my little mistake!!
