Hardware Support External HDD for solo2

I need to replace my external HDD on my solo2,

does it need to have a separate power supply or is a USB powered one ok

It's always best to use an external powered one rather than USB.

Did you know the Solo2 can take an internal hdd ?

Thanks, I might go with an internal hdd as externals with separate power supplies don't seem that common anymore

I would get a hybrid SSHD which will be so fast that you can use picons on the hdd with 0 zero lag. If you don't want that then make sure the one you choose has good seek/R/W times. Seagate or WD are safe bets.

Nearly forgot, drive must be 2.5" (laptop type) for the Solo2.
