Magine TV offers low-cost pay-TV access
Internet TV provider Magine TV has launched two new pay-TV packages in Germany: Film & Serie and Kids for €2.99 per month each.

The bouquets can be subscribed to directly and cancelled monthly. With this strategy, Magine TV hopes to reach new customer circles which have so far been put off by basic packages or full year contracts mandated by classic cable operators or pay-TV providers.

“Viewers only want to pay for what they actually watch,” said Ambuj Goyal, CEO of Magine TV. “The German TV market develops towards the actual content and away from complex binding contracts.”

The Film & Serie package contains Sat.1 Emotions, kabel eins Classics, TNT Film, Sony Entertainment Television, AXN, Animax and Universal Channel. Kids includes Boomerang, Cartoon Network, Nick Jr., Fix&Foxi and ducktv.

Further thematic pay-TV packages will follow, according to Magine TV.
