Would this image have facility for autoshutdown (box inactivity)? Or is there a plugin I can add?

Nice one! So the sleep delay setting is the time for no button being pressed and then it shutsdown I guess. I'll try it.

Strange, this image leaves a speckled border around the picture. Tried video settings to no avail. Gone back to old image and all ok.?

Anyone else have this problem, where it doesn't fill the screen? Perhaps I should've tried changing the skin.

I have reflashed it again to double check & no such problems using either of the installed skins buddy.

OK. I did try it twice with same problem. Perhaps I'll download it again. It left about a one inch frame all around the picture. How strange!

Try adjusting Menu >Setup >System >User Interface >Position Setup.

Thanks guys. As soon as I moved position setup by one notch, it seemed to fix it!
Great image, any chance of the same for my duo2?

This one is for Original VU+ only, i can patch it for Sunray but if your box is Lonrisun im afraid the latest images are not possible due to lack of updated drivers.

I don't have access to a Duo2 but would happily help you create one to share with our members if you are interested?

Thanks for the help offer, would love to have a go, but a bit stuck for time. Guess you start with factory image and then add all the extras. How long would it take approx?

Yes you would start by just flashing a stock image & with all the files handy the backup would be ready in less than one hour but you are right wait until you have time to learn each step rather than just fire everything in & not be any wiser. This gives us me the idea we should create a section dedicated to making backup images as i cannot recall seeing anything similar on any other board during my time in our hobby.

Hi,

I am very new & novice to the Sat Scene but am having problems getting this image to load properly. It completes the procedure asking one to press the Power button twice.

The first time, I did so & eventually ended up with a message stating "Tune Failed". I tried installing again this time without pressing the Power Button when asked to do so the second time but still the same result.

I downloaded directly from here & extracting the file created a folder called "vuplus" of size 198.8mb. Inside this there was another folder called "solo2" which had 5 items inside - see screenshot below.

The USB stick is 2GB & formatted to FAT32. I did a software update that showed 189 Updates but even after that, things were still the same. Eventually, with the "Tune Failed" message on screen, none of the remote control buttons responded & the only way to try again was to switch off the set at the back. I would really appreciate any help on this as I am so new & novice to things & wish to ensure I do not do anything silly that might damage the box!

Many Kind Thanks!

Hi Again,

Pertaining to my last post, I just realised that I was trying to install Openvix initially so should I have used the image from the Vu plus images under Openvix & Solo 2 here:

http://vuplus-images.co.uk/index.php?threads/openvix-3-2-release.6068/

as opposed to this one which states Vu+ Solo 2 "Back Up Images"?

Have I mistakenly & stupidly installed the wrong stuff? I ask as the one on this page seemed to have everything already loaded on it so one can load & use without having to search & hunt for stuff? Please forgive my ignorance - I am very new to this & it is confusing to a novice!

Many Thanks!

Sorry, thought I'd answered this yesterday. DOH.

The ones via that link are the base firmware versions as released by the Team Developers which as you state means you would be starting from new.

If you want a head start then one can go for a backup image (like this one) which has everything most people would want or need already included.

We NEVER include keys nor sealions (gifts) in any of our images here nor to we knowingly host any (non inhouse developed) that do.

Hi,

Thank you kindly for responding! I have been having nightmare - I tried multiple installs & all of them failed for some reason - I was just acting as "Monkey See. Monkey Do" from the install instructions but something kept going wrong - either lots of crashes & then freezes or kept being stuck on the boot page(?).

I finally came here & saw a new version called 3.2.027 & that has seemed to load up OK. This I believe is the "base version" you spoke about & does not have any of the features as shown above.

Can/Should I now just install this "Back Up" version then following the same procedure so I get the epg, menu's etc? If so, how many folders should there be in there - is it 5 like as shown in the screen-shot I attached earlier? I ask as last time I tried to install this image, I got "Tune Failed" messages as described earlier. I formatted the USB to FAT32 each time I had to try again.

I bought the Solo 2 from a authorised dealer so it was not a gift - my machine is unlocked & I do not need a Key/Pin but there is a password facility in there somewhere I believe. I have no idea what a "sealion" is!

I am thinking this box is way too complicated for me - the computer language, codes are like hieroglyphics to me & I do not know what most of the things in the various menu's are for & what the settings should be! My installer was supposed to set everything up for me but he had to move back up Country suddenly kind of leaving me in the lurch!

Is it safe for me to install this BackUp image now then - I do not want the thing to keep crashing time & time again!

Many Kind Thanks!

As with any image, back up or base, you will still need to set it for your setup and localisation.

This is why I suspect you are getting a 'tune failed' error.

You will need to set your 'Tuner' settings.

Click Here for a small guide.

Hi,

Thank you again -I will look at that guide & see if I can apply the info. Tbh, it was a nightmare trying to get any channels - I do not know how but I finally managed to get at least the 28.2E Channels on the box but in a very random order - I think (but not sure) this was on both Tuner A & B but I am finding it very hard to be able to tell or select between the two as the system does not allow it or I do not know how. Every time I select one of the tuners & press OK, it scans all the channels again & it takes ages for it to complete. Do you know how to switch between both tuners & check?

I have one cable from a Motorised Dish going to Tuner A & another cable going from a fixed Sky Dish to Tuner B. I am totally lost on how to set up the motorised side of things so have only tried on 28.2E as I am not at all familiar with all the other sats & their tech details.

I will try & apply the guide & report back - just looking at the motorised section on that guide, I can tell you I input in somethings completely different!

Should I apply this BackUp Image to both Tuners then?

Many Thanks!

Added:

OK - Just applied the settings exactly as per guide (Both had incorrect inputs!). Tuner B is Fixed Dish & details comply.

Tuner A is Motorised Dish & again, inputted exactly as per guide except put: -0036 as 359.66 West - is that correct? Also, after saving it says "Positioner USALS".

The installer put in a TM2600 Motor & told me is was a DisESqC one?
