Start of openATV 6.0 Image Public Beta Test

We start now in public beta testing the new openATV 6.0 Image.

After less than9 months, since there is the stable openATV 5.3 Image version, let us go on with the openATV 6.0 Image version.
We had in the meantime a test image in the version 5.4, which is a small group of users
has optimized with us.
Thanks to all who helped!


Some of you are thinking: "What can you improve, since the openATV 5.3 Image currently works super stable
and we have no major problems with it."


The openATV 6.0 image now becomes international and a multi- default image.



Here is a brief overview of what Image 5.3 Image changes in openATV 6.0 compared to openATV everything:



OE-Core Build:
Update of Jethro on morty
GCC 5:30 -> 6:20 GCC
glibc 2.2.3 -> 2.2.4
Build Python Engine 2.7 .11 -> 3.5.2
bitbake 1:29 -> 1:32
optimization for Multi build environment
error checking and cache optimizations
and much more.


GStreamer:
GStreamer 1.8.1 -> GStreamer 1:11
Support New Media Codec
HLS streams optimizations
Bug fixes and memory optimizations for embedded systems


openATV Enigma2:
Multi Tuner function boxes with DVB-C / T (Hybrit Tuner)
Multi Stream (MIS)
ATSC tuner and EPG for USA and other countries
Chinese menu languages
new SKIN options to use VTI Skins (Experimental)
debug level reduction of information thereby
improving the speed of old equipment models
error adjusted Mymetrix SKIN
Improved USB tuner Support
Clean runtime errors and Memleaks
update Python 2.7.11 -> 2.7.12


arm models:
conversion of ARMv7 Cortex A15 after tuning
on the same basis as Dreambox DM900
openSSL ABI version adjustment as Dreambox DM900




the openATV 6.0 Image is available for all devices for which there was also a 5.3 openATV Image!
We have adapted all the updates so that we can continue to create a uniform image for all devices.

VU UHD (4k) Images will not give it until 6.0 for as long as there is no support from VU!

Not sure what this means, but in OP.

VU UHD (4k) Images will not give it until 6.0 for as long as there is no support from VU!

Must mean something if that image only one needing auth hey?

thank you to all the team for the new openATV 6.0 Image.

I have for some time very excited. Unfortunately, there is for my box VU + Solo4K nor the support of VU. Can you here are more closely whether and when here VU will assist you accordingly?

Have also seen that there are newer Images for my box though, but the download is password protected. Would it be possible to take part here in the beta test?

Yes, confirmed only for 4K. Seems ATV are waiting on something from Vu+ before they release.

On a positive note all the niggles we experieinced in beta seem to have been resolved. Even the Sky Q skin works! Backup in progress.

OpenATV team are waiting for VU to fix drivers on the 4k machines before they can build v6.0 correctly, also animation is not working on any of the VU atv 6.0 images, again a driver issue with VU.

If anyone likes "kiddacs" slyk skins, the latest version now works on OpenATV 6.0 and he also says his vbolt and vskin works to (will check in a bit)

Im not sure there was a driver problem for the Solo4k, as far as i know it was only the 2 latest models they were waiting for support with.

Just installed Open Atv 6 nightly build from website.....Kodi installed from feeds....when selected freezes up....thats a good start...anyone else or just me ??
Edit...Just reflashed with image flashing tool flashed ok....but Kodi same...noticed install to short...maybe not all files loading....how do I install with telnet please

Check your disk mounts. I had to set mine up again because hdd was not mounting to where I was expecting it to. Took me almost a week to work that one out.
