A localised version of Travel Channel has launched on the Macedonian telco Makedonski Telekom, which is part of the Magyar Telekom group.

Meanwhile, the cable operator blizoo, which is a subsidiary of the Telekom Austria Group, will now also include a localised version of Travel Channel.

It already offers viewers the Scripps Networks lifestyle channels Fine Living and Network, in its digital basic and HD packages respectively.

Commenting on Travel Channel’s launch on Makedonski Telekom, Jon Sichel, MD, Scripps Networks UK & EMEA, said: “We are pleased to add another of our world-class networks to Makedonski Telekom’s platform. Following the success of Food Network and Fine Living in the region, we are confident that offering Travel Channel in local language will cement our leading lifestyle channels as household brands.”

Dimitar Kovacevski, corporate communications director at Makedonski Telekom, added: “From now on, the users of Makedonski Telekom can enjoy the high quality programming of Travel Channel with Macedonian translation. MaxTV users will have an even richer TV experience which adds value to our service offering.”
