XStreamity v1.34

Very nearly coming to the end of this version of this plugin now.

Very little needs changing or adding anymore. Then I can move on to finishing its big brother. XStreamity-XL

Whats new...

Quick fix for boxes that haven't got tuners tuned in and using there box purley as an iptv box.

Added in the setting to hide "ALL" category. Must admit I keep hitting that by mistake myself.

What have I broke this time....

VOD covers now downloads and shows JPG image and not PNG. Reduction in file size. So thats good

VOD cover no longer has a download delay

Better handling of https images. Tries https first. If fails tries to see if there is a http version

Added in an amend for picons that use gigantic fandom picons. Should now download a smaller version

Fixed the back to stream showing wrong inforbar information

Sorry chaps... I am pulling the v2 version of this plugin for now.

Too many people are getting temporarily locked out or even banned from their providers.

Too many people are complaining about screen lock ups.

If you're using it, use it with caution. Take your time going through the lists.


I might have to do some sort of hybrid version of the APIs


enigma2.php api (v1) I was good for bringing in categories, lists, vod. But crap for EPG and Series.

player_api.php api (v2) is hanging some playlists menus, and causing bans from providers on the Live EPG lists.


The only other option is to load a large EPG file on load. A bit like "Perfect Player" does.

But I tried this originally. Although it worked. Once you have had a fast version, even waiting 30 seconds to start a plugin becomes noticeable.

And mega large providers you could be waiting for about a minute. Some EPG files are huge

Do not post personal MOD code in this thread, including different functionality, different skins etc. It confuses me, it confuses users.
Also we test most code on multiple images and boxes. Modifications might work on your setup, but may crash other peoples.
Start a new thread if need be quoting it is a mod and what images/box it is has been tested on.
This plugin does not contain any playlists or channels. All IPTV playlists need to be sourced by user.
IPTV is perfectly legal - IPTV providers/playlists that contain unscrambled encrpyted channels are illegal. User is responsible for any downloaded playlist content.
We do not discuss IPTV providers on this forum.
I don't recommend, promote or have an affiliation with any provider. Questions regarding IPTV providers will be ignored/deleted.
Do not post IPTV provider names, provider URLs, provider IP addresses, or screenshots that identify providers in this thread.
Check any posted crash logs do not contain any of your provider, username & password details.
It is recommend you use a VPN with any IPTV plugin. VPN use is not the topic of this thread.

X-Streamity should be compatible with all images and boxes.

Note this plugin will not play m3u playlists

So what's new....

XMLTV files download with no blocking in the background. This is refreshed and downloaded every 24 hours.

Downloading EPG is shown by an icon on the mini TV. Once it has downloaded icon should disappear.

These files are saved to your epg.dat hdd location if available in your settings file - otherwise they download to etc/enigma2/xstreamity/epg

You should be able to use and view your iptv while EPG is still downloading in the background.


Exit button is now always Back - Red is now return to playing stream on the channel pages - that used to bug the hell out of me to as I always use exit button to go back.


EPG is loaded from the xmltv file in chunks of 10 per page.

This method works very fast for small providers. And also means category "ALL" doesn't grind to a halt.

Huge providers are still going to get a lag while the EPG loads on each page. There is 100000s of lines of code it has to iterate through to find the current now and next epg for the current channel. This should not be a massive delay though. A few seconds. Just be patient with it for large world wide providers



There still might be some memory issues for large providers - I am using a powerful quad core box - so don't know what the experience on lesser boxes is.

There sill might be some bugs I need to catch for invalid xml files and bad data. But I not been able to crash this with my test files today.

If your provider is not compatible with this plugin.
If your provider is too large for this plugin
If your box is not poweful to run this plugin
If your image is not compatible with this plugin

Please change one of the above problems or use an alternative plugin. Instead of daily complaining that my plugin doesn't work for you.
I am not a developer. I am not highly skilled in enigma2 or python. I am a hobbyist. That has spent far too much time on this project already.
If it works... brilliant... If it doesn't... Unlucky... Go out and buy a modern quad core box and use an OE-Alliance image, because that is what I solely design all my plugins and skins for.

V1.36 remains on post one for people that have issues with V2

I will continue to fix reported bugs, but I am not here to personalise this plugin for individual scenarios.
