Open BH supports sly skins if you want a bh image.

I found the opposite.
Kodi 17 plays alot more formats than Kodi 16.1 RC, but 16.1 on OpenPLI played the most.
I use Kodi 17 on OpenATV 6 now mainly.
Local media or addons? if local need make sure mounted correctly if NAS?

Could well be, but something else to consider is BANDWIDTH needed to stream ACTUAL 4k content and not upscaled 4k.
What speed internet you have on the box (by speedtest in Kodi)
Baring in mind a true 4k movies be over 40gb in size, will need steady net, good ping, download/upload.
Have you tried the same 4k content via IPTV player then local media or via plex and dreamplex?

Need to get myself a 4K TV one of these days but got to say I have managed to watch alleged 4K rips (obviously downscaled) & they look great on a HD TV through the Ult4K.
Yeah I played an upscaled 4k of "secret life of pets" on a standard FHD TV via Vu+ Uno 4k, picture was so sharp, but cant bring myself to buy a budget 4k tv as upscale on SD channels won't be good and could make pic worse.
And dont wanna spend thousands haha
Kodi box? please do not use that term haha
It may be an android box in which one of the apps installed is Kodi, among many others.
My laptop has Kodi, I don't call KodiTop.
Oh this isn't me being a dick by the way, but when "kodi box" us use, it doesn't given an insight of what hardware your using, what platform, so comparisons cannot be made. Always best be descriptive as possible when talking about hardware/streaming.
My box via Kodi 17 plays 4K (see 2160p) bottom right, will be upscaled Fhd but same as majority.
Plays perfect (ignore openvix, it's just the skin as it shows reso on it ha)
I will try few more sources/reso and formats over the weekend and see if I come across any stutter or issues.
